what front comp cover is it? .50 or .70? play with the length of the pipe.

lol
the dose is cause by the length, shape and mostly the diamiter of the pipe.

to get a VL turbo dose, you will need to fit a piece of 2.5" wide pipe, make it straight, and nice and long with nothing on the end...
3" will be a bit lower, and 4" will be nice and low.

for a 4" pipe to get a loud dose you would need to be running alot of boost.

the wider the pipe, the more air you need to make a loud dose.

you dont want a shorter piece of pipe, you would proly want a longer piece depending on how yours is setup.

most VLs with a good dose have just a piece of 2.5" pipe off a stock T3

Get the biggest BOV you can find and put it on, that will make your dose awesome.

Because the most awesome dose is NOT HAVING IT!

because your turbo has a wide inlet and a pretty large compressor wheel, you will struggle to get a VL Turbo style dose..
best you could do would be to fit a 3" pipe as 2.5" will be too small for the turbo.

Does it have the anti surge compressor housing? Does anyone know if they will still dose with the anti surge housings?

yes and yes lol.

the antisurge compressor housing helps stop surging before the turbo is on boost properly, but dont think it will stop it from doseing completly

Straight pipe, ending just before the PS pump with no filter, get a reducer to make it 2.5" should sound mint.

I had this on my old setup to try it out, it was VL style but my turbo was pretty small too compared to yours, i've noticed smalled turbo's dose better. I gotta try my dose pipe on my 3540 should be a decent one I reckon, but i'll be getting a BOV after, time for something different :P

If it helps, this had a really, really loud VL style dose:

The point of anti-surge housings is to STOP surge. Surge is air flowing backwards through the compressor wheel, and 'Dose' is the noise this airflow makes.

It is bad for the turbo (the amount depends on who you talk to) and therefore it is gay.

they say its bad rollin but ive yet to see a turbo that has fkd up by dose/flutter. ive seen some of my mates with 30psi an dose at that boost an still not one thing wrong with the turbo...you really Should only dose with a steel wheel'd turbo, ceramic, nylon is more prone to shatter...

These are turbine materials^^^. Havent heard of a nylon one before? Its the thrust and compressor that cop shit under "dose" conditions.
