Probably just a body kit and maybe XR-style suspension mate.

I'd say on of the previous owners has just chucked some tickford stuff on it.

This is stretching my memory somewhat, but Tickford did suffer a certain identity crisis in the '90s. Anyone who remembers my EL wagon parts car which I bought in about '03 may recall it had factory dual-fuel LPG, and a Tickford plate to match. It seems Ford Australia's halo badge was part taxi, part performance machine. In the same way that common or garden Commodores were available with an 'HSV enhanced' 185i motor at the time, Tickford suspension and body kit packs were available on more mundane models. Such a car will not have HSV or Tickford badges, unless an enthusiast has decided to act out of sincere flattery for the premium models and stick them on (not exactly uncommon). To my knowledge, no Tickford power-up packages were sold - nor were they necessary given the reasonable value of the XR6 and XR8.

It would be a stretch to call an LPG-equipped EL or a sports-suspension EB a 'Tickford' car in the same vein as a Falcon GT or S-XR6. The difference is that Tickford cars were thoroughly engineered as complete packages, as opposed to a few add-on parts here or there. This confusion perhaps contributed to loss of prestige and resale woes for premium Tickford models. The Tickford LPG conversion business was all the more ironic given the agony that top-of-the-range Falcon drivers feel when their pride and joy is associated with lowly taxis. All has been addressed with current models. You won't find any 'FPV enhanced' FG XTs or factory HSV options on VE Omegas, which I'm sure people shelling $70k for an F6 or GTS would appreciate.

Furthermore, do the usual exhaust/cam/etc mods and you'll blow past most genuine E-Series Tickford cars anyway. That's another issue that the later models have somewhat addressed...

I don't think the tickford EB's got the Tickford head i think they came out in the ED's. Our EB S-XR6 is Tickford enhanced, the only tickford parts on it is the bodykit & maybe the suspension in its earlier days. I noticed just after we brought our car while laying in the boot fitting new speakers under our rear parcel shelf on our EB there's a sticker that says enhanced by Tickford with a build number.Have a look maybe ur's might have it or something simular............ :)

i'd say its just a stock fairmont mate... many people stick ticky badges on..
someone probably stuck em on to match the wheels...

Incorrect, the S-XR6 was the real deal from day one. The only difference with very early models was the lack of smartlock. The ED was a very minor revision with different headlights and evolutionary updates such as door intrusion beams.

The only exception is if the engine has been replaced with a stock motor by some fool.

Anyhow, nice EB Josh, looks like the previous owner has even imitated the red striping of the genuine XR models. A top example from the photos.

have you checked if you have a limited slip diff on it? I looked recently at a EBII Fairmont ghia that supposiably had "the tickford Option" I found that this entailed a limited slip diff of unknown ratio and thats about it.
