Matts EB XR6 (x- fairmont ghia)

Postby mattsEB » September 5th, 2009, 2:11 am

Hey all, just signed up on boostedfalcons, I hav only had my eb for 5 months now, for the age it is i believe that it is in great nik...... nothing major has been done to the engine its all pretty much stock for now. i havnt really focused on the performance of the car yet. I am mainly working on the looks of my car for now, little things that make a big difference, pretty soon i will start working on the performance of the car.
I bought the EB of my brother which was kept in pretty good condition, the engine is almost immaculate and hasnt failed on me nor him. the owner previous to my brother was an old bloke who was a mechanic for ford, so he knew what he was doing with the car. Over the time i hav had the car its been debadged on the side panels, i replaced the dull orange indicator lights with the clear indicator lights which i believe makes a massive difference, and i had [size=150]17" BA GTP mockup rims on them. i just recently bought 19" FG GTP silver agents, along with ultra lows for the back n superlows for the front. i hav to say it was worth while buyin them. here are a few pics.. feel free to comment on.

This is how i bought the car off my brother
Image

I Just recently put the new 19" rims on i hav to say it makes the car look pretty tuff:)

Thats about it. i will post up more updates on the car for those who are interested..

Clear repeaters and color coded door handles would be an improvement I reckon :good:

- Its a Ghia
- Its White
- ITS AN EB!!

This is My favourite E series combination, very very nice car mate, all it needs is an ED XR boot lip, and AU clear gaurd indicators, possibly ED XR front, well thats what i would do personally, if u do end up doing that id love to see it!

Postby mattsEB » July 20th, 2010, 6:26 pm

Ok guys I just sawthis old thread about my car and want to wake it fromthe dead lol. I have done quite a bit of things since i last posted on this thread. I added on the au indicators (standard eb mod), I installed a 2 1/2" redneck exhaust with 3" dump pipe and magnaflow hi-flow cat and extractors, I put the Whitewalls on my tyres, tinted my windows, el door handles, gave it a few cut and polishes haha and my most recent mod is converting my car to an xr6 Which was the best thing I have done, so now I have a fairmont ghia inside with and xr6 outside,
Here are a few pics
Image
Image
Image

Here are some pics of the grille before I put it on. The hinges were snapped and I remade them out of number plate and filler lol
Image
Image
Image

Then after adding the filler to the hinges I filed them into shape and got the whole thing sprayed stark white
Image
Image

Anyways without any hesitation I chucked the grille
N lights in straight away lol tell me what u think
Image
Image
Image

Then the other day I put the bootlip spoiler on but I done something out of the ordinary instead of putting the standard Xr bootlip I thought that the svo bootlip would stand out way better and i was right. Anyway thanks SNR for the bootlip. The garnish I bought was painted black and finished nicely thanks to PhAT EB
Image
Image
Image
Image

I hav also repainted my interior panels. I kept them the same Colour but added a clear finish to it. I also bought a custom cluster with a white background and blue lettering. I changed all the led lights in the cluster to white and in the dash they are blue....
I dnt have photos of the interior yet I'll put some up soon.

Cheers guys
Finish

the SVO spoilers are cool. they are just that bit bigger than the XR ones. and don't sag due to be fibreglass. they are a good thing. those wheels are awesome.
Daily driver: AU2. 5 speed. 19" BBS LM. Full exhaust. Lowered. A mix of AU XR leather interior and T series goodies, converted to full power windows. 3.45 LSD. AU1 XR kit with classic spoiler.
Weekend driver: EA SVO - AU motor. Built BTR. SDE 3600 stall. T76 turbo. Locked diff. On E85. approx 425rwkw. 10.8 @ 126mph

Yes, it would look aweful. The black garnish looks quite good - are your tail-lights tinted at all or is it just the shadow?
