phone problems

Postby OZBMX » February 27th, 2010, 6:33 pm

Hey guys I know this isn't the usul topic, but literally a month ago I renewed my contract and got a nokia 6710 navigator, anyway I pulled it out my pocket today, to find the lcd's broken, the case isn't but the lcd fucked.
anyway, I guess I've got **** all chance on warranty? but is there any other possible avenues to check out, because for **** sake it's lasted a month, and the lcd fucked, like I've somehow hit it on something, why the **** can't they offer phone that are a little robust atleast, my old 6110 copped an absolute hiding, and died a slow an painful death, but took it well for a long time., but there wasn't a phhone on offer, that look in anyway robust.

I guess can it be repaired, or could I repair it?
or is there a possible warranty?
callinin sick, callin in twisted, they insisted.

You never know, it could be under warranty. It all depends whether pressure on the screen caused the failure or connections inside have given up. If it's pressure then no warranty but if not then it could well be a warranty issue.

The only thing to be wary of is to see if your phone company charges you for sending a phone back for repairs and it's found to be physical or water damage. I work in a telstra shop and my job is to organize warranty repairs for customers and if I let a phone be sent away and it comes back voided warranty then telstra charges $49.50 service fee.

Otherwise an independant repair centre should be able sort you out!

Dont talk about phones, got 2 new ones today and spent the last 10 hours trying to get emails to divert to them.

Came seriously close to smashing them into 1000 pieces tonight.

lol iphones are easy to replace the screens on, which is lucky have done my mrs twice and also replaced the digitizer on a few.
i reckon if your handy with a lil screwdriver have a go at replacing the screen yourself, unless you have insurance then you really have nothing to lose.

but i just had a look on ebay and doesnt look to be any screens for that model phone :/
did you ask for phone insurance?
if not, call and ask if you can add it to the contract, and when you do enquire about the T&Cs including cooling off or waiting period.
then wait until the cooling off period is over and claim :)
