the cancellation of the Easternats 3rd – 5th April 2010.

1st Fact... See moreEasternats under the direction of John
Davison the Promoter of the event is responsible for the cancellation of
the event.

2nd FactCalder Park the venue owner was only
notified on Monday night via E – ...Mail... at 5:57pm.

3rd FactCalder
Park considers the cancellation of the event to be premature.Calder
Park management is willing to proceed with the event should certain
contractual agreements be met

4th FactCalder Park is
generally apologetic to any persons that have entered or who were
looking forward to this coming event.Calder Park is concerned
that the blame for the cancellation has been directed at Calder Park/Bob
Jane.The cancellation is directly the responsibility of Jon Davison and
the Easternats Management and their un-willingness to proceed with the
event.All complaints should be directed at Jon Davison who is
the Promoter of this event.

like i said on another forum, its not like bob jane is sitting there saying 'come on mate, just sign the contract' without willing to budge on the reasons that there is obviously conflict over.

it would be very unlikely for a promoter of an event to pull out just cause they felt like it
more like bob jane is after more money or is asking for un reasonable terms

The Friday night meet is not a good idea. Apart from the fact that its not going to effect the parties responsable for cancelling Easternats the cops and sherrif's office are sitting back rubbing their hands together about having everyone in the one spot and will be ready to pounce on everyone. Anyone with outstanding fines, warrants or a defective car is going to be fucked in the ass. Is it really worth it ???????????

I think a people protest aimed at the parties responsable for cancelling would be a better option and leave cars out of it. Somewhere like Bob Janes head office or somewhere that effects John Davison.

We need to show the government and the authorities that we are willing to go the right way about things and get them on our side.

Anyone in the area caught protesting will be fine and possibly arrested.
Cars will be checked, Outstanding warrents will be checked and drug alcohol readings will be taken
They are treating this as they did the Noble park Riots and they dont care if its peaceful or not.
Please stay away from the area guys; The last thing I want is for anyone to get arrested or in trouble.

However; feel free to send a letter thru to your local council member pushing for more automotive events. They can stop this but it doesnt mean we do nothing.

There are other protests going on around melbourne, ask around if you want.
but do NOT go to the Calder fwy on Friday.

i think there will be alot of he said she said regarding the cancellation of easternats.
its been cancelled at calder and no matter what people try to do wont make people change there minds.
people trying to protest etc is in my eyes going to make things worse and make it very hard for enjoyable automotive things to be held.

I agree. Its already hard enough as it is without creating more hassles.
