They're ODing. A reader comment says it's Ben Cousins' fault... this is yet to be confirmed.

Watch for comments from Kosta Dose :)

If you go the main page for Herald Sun they have a picture slide with 3 stories with a big picture. You can see the mangled VZ divvy van there.

And good news;

LOL at them doing tests to ascertain speed of impact and shit.
If that was a P-Platers car, or any modified car, they would have said "it is believed speed was the cause of the accident" and there would have been a quote from the officer on the scene about how people need to slow down and wipe off 5.

Those high powered Holden VZ divisional vans are a menace to society - absolute death machines.

Police should have kept the old Falcon divisional vans going. They have a higher bonnet line and better front end structural integrity which would have meant less injuries for the officers, as the truck wouldn't have jumped on to the bonnet as it did. They're also just better.

I applaud your moderation of this article "comments moderator of Herald Sun Online", sensitive comments should not be posted publically Russ

They should never have gotten rid of the EA falcon police car, the EA was the best falcon made and was also perfect for police duties. They do not even need to be modified as they are so great straight outta the factory. I have one of these vehicles in my private collection and will never modify it, it's my car and I will do what I want.

I ROFL'd at Dezza.

Whoever you are though, you cheapened my comment, and the Herald Sun comment community as a whole - which has integrity, dignity and "intellectual property" that is only rivalled by AFF.

i'll have to disagree with everyone and say that the AU falcon is safest and most reliable police division van the police have ever been able to use and twas a sad day when they retired them. if the truck had hit an AU falcon the truck would of been the worst off.

If the driver was anyone else, the case would be cut and dried - Car veers into oncoming traffic due to understeer caused by excessive speed, as a result of failure to pay due care and attention, resulting in severe damage to property and persons.

Where are the hoon laws now?

Are they going to impound and crush the police car I wonder? Clearly it was being used for the purposes of hoon activity - What other reason would there be for a car to veer into oncoming traffic, coming home at the end of a shift?

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

I wish they posted the Kenster quote, "abdominal injuries" was reworded as "aboriginal injustice", and refrigerated truck the divvy van was stuck under was referred to as "crashing the yoghurt truck"
