Those wheels and gearbox are the only cool thing about this. Wrong type of car, wrong type of motor, wrong type of supercharger. Nice try though! :P

drove past it outside your house today bentley.

looks tough, seemed pretty straight to, not a bad price given everything thats in it.

it will be good to see it loose some of the typical holden items though (monster tacho / stickers). keep up the pics it will be good to watch its transformation.

these are the comments i knew id get and to be frank i dont give a ****... vortech blower kit intercooled from capa is $7k alone. add in respray, extractors, full twin 2.5"exhaust, clubsport interior, motor, gearbox, all new ball joints bushes etc etc... its a no brainer... vn ss is like a eb xr8 at the end of the day... just bogans pay more for an ss than an xr8

I don't think you paid to much for a worked SS

I just think you payed to much for a holden in general.

Btw, you say EL XR8s go for 9ish still... I think that's because they are 8 years newer and 8 years less homo.

But... Supercharged V8s are still hot.

I don't mean any offence, just telling the truth.

ill try get some up today lol im a tad too lazy rofl... yeah nut347 i know els are newer etc, but really at the end of the day what does an el have over this? both live axle, both pushrod v8, same gearbox(if manual) essentially same diff, interiors are like different and shit but els dont have any more real features over this (other than trip computer...wow) so for bang for buck etc i think its pretty good still considering... and no offence taken... its one of those cars you see the pics and you think gee thats pretty clean but i dunno if id pay that much... you go for a spin in it, and you just want to fork over cash straight away ahahaha

The interior could probably do with a bit of a sharpen up, but your probably already looking into that. Whats the switch on the right hand side of the steering wheel for?

bentls - it's not about the actual stats of the VN vs an EL...it's just the mabo and the consitiution of the thing. Body about as rigid as a wet shoebox with the lid taken off, front suspension and dashboard designed by stready eddie, that sort of thing.

At least you can thank the Lord it's not IRS, and the blower whine should drown out the all the creaks and rattles :)

PhAtEl...blown 8s would have a shitload more credibility if they actually had the bite to match the bark, but all the ones I've come into contact with (including and especially at Powercruise) have been very bloody soft in the pants. They're just bloody noisy all the time and then when you get on the gas the blower gets drowned out by the external gate on the turbo 6 that's rapidly overtaking you....ghey.

Still, whatever makes you happy :)

lol what rollin is trying to say is...
a VN = a VN shell on a VB chassis which was borrowed from a 1980 civic
all structural integrety comes from the excessive use of plastic in the interior.

all jokes aside, just like a falcon, with certain mods they can be made to handle ok, but you would kneck yourself if you owned a V6 version...

get it on the rollers, keen to see what it makes.

blown 5ls are pretty cool, i rate them over turbo 6s.
i got both so no point any of you fags trying to argue.

that blue plate on the blower will tell you what model vortech it is, if it's fairly new it'll be a V2. would you say the whine with the bonnet up is physically painful to your ears? if so the gears are straight cut. if its just a happy whine its an SQ.

it's straight cut gears then, no helical in V1.

nice work bentley! The VN SS is a tough looking car. definitely need to put the SS sticker kit back on, i think you can get them from rare spares. without it it just looks like a faker.
