Bass Crazy back behind a 4.0L - BA XR6T

Postby simc » April 20th, 2010, 1:16 pm

Hi All,
After selling my beloved EA Ghia of 10 years (The older members out there might know what im going on about) I could not cure the 4.0l itch. I had my eye out for a Blue Print XR6T for quite a while. When I finally came across one with all the bits I wanted, without the fulley sick thrashed history I snapped it up.

2003 XR6T – Blueprint
- Sunroof
- Premium sound
- Blue seat stitching
- Pedders springs
- 3” exhaust
- Typhoon spec R wheels
- All original paint & panels
- Full Ford service history

I picked it up as is last year for 16k, with 85k on the clock. I was pretty impressed with it, fantastic bang for buck!! Real nice daily driver, so the 66 Fairmont can have a rest for a while.
Current Rides:
BA XR6T
Holden Gemini - Supercharged/Intercooled 3.8lV6
1966 XR Fairmont - Factory 289 V8
VZ Wagon for the Wife and BuBz

That sounds like a steal! Think I only met you once at a Sofia's carpark years ago, but I loved the paint & the polished blades on your EA. It's always good when older members come back to say g'day!

Thanks guys. It almost seems like the only way forward for the older E series member to jump behind a B series, still miss the EA though.

As for mods. . Just fitted drilled/slotter rotors and Bendix Ultimates. I’d love to get rid of the stock cooler. The offset annoys the crap out of me, looks like a mistake. I have not been in a modded BA yet so don’t have anything to aspire to.. but a flash tune would be nice eventually. Goes ok for a stocker at the moment

Pics, I did not find a site upload section, I don’t have anywhere to host pics. At the end of the day, just a run of the mill BA anyhow.

Sunny a cruise sounds good. I have taken it up to the Hanging Rock picnic early this year, great day. Just got back from VL Nationals at Heathcote, so all Geed Up for Turbo cruising.

Just use photobucket.com it takes 2 seconds to set up. It doesn't matter if it's stock or run of the mill!

I'll check out photobuket.

The VL nationals were pretty good. We camped out at the track for the weekend, but while leaving there was a road block up the road from the track exit. We managed to get around the police, but they were going through eveything that went past. Very very annoying but there were some try hard heroes doing burnouts out the front of the track on a public road, so that triggered police.

Easy tragets I guess. Probably should have picked on those causing issues rather then making a mess of the event.

OH and you will be pleased to know that the second fastest car of the weekend was the one and only BA XR6T that raced :yahoo: , with a Gemini the quickest. HAHA thats the best VL's have to offer.
