g'day guys from cranbourne victoria

Postby campbell18 » April 28th, 2010, 12:06 am

hey, hows it goin?
im 18 and live in cranbourne victoria. Im currently completing year 12, studying to become a mechanical engineer (one day i hope) :) been floating around the formods website for a while but only just came across eseries
i bought my grans ED off her a couple of years ago, wasnt a bad buy considering the car had been garaged all its life and hadnt even clicked over 60,000k's
since then ive started doing a bit of chopping and changing. I reckon it looks a fair bit nicer then it used to, not sure if gran agrees with me though

heres a list of modifications:

mechanical:

pacemaker PH4480's
AusPac 2.5 catback
wade 1636 cam
boxed K&N pod
bosch motorsport leads
shift kit

Suspension and wheels:

lovells superlows
PDW fuzion 18's

Exterior and Interior:

bootlip spoiler (getting painted)
clear front indicators
dual dump tip
painted engine bay including rocker cover, airbox and snorkel and power steering pump

kendwood headunit

Future mods:

looking to install a 5 speed manual in the near future

cheers

Brilliant first car dude. A lot better than mine... 330,000 kms eb :?

Anyway, if your looking into doing mechanical engineering theres two things you need to consider.

1st: I hope you LOVE physics and maths, cos you will be doing a hell of a lot of it

2nd: Unfortunately, not a lot of car design is done is Australia compared to china, america etc, so it will be hard to get a job in the automotive design industry.

Im only saying this because i seriously considered that course last year but decided against it for those reasons.

In having said that, for all i know you are the best Physics student in the state and you'll finish uni with top marks in which case you can pretty much go where ever you want (FPV ;-) )

Good luck with year 12 dude and hope the car treats you well :good:

Something with less maths. I'm doing biotechnology. Which has quite a bit of chemistry and a touch of physics thrown in as well.

If your doing well its a good sign. Its when you lose interest that it gets a lot harder. But once your in uni its not that hard to change course if you don't like what your doing. Just have to have good marks so they know you can handle it.
