Yeh $250 for sure is a good price... If it falls thru, I got my GT40p's for $580 incl delivery from Matt @ Yella Terra in Melb. Brand new with valves and springs.. Thats a pretty good price too , they might still have some more if your other deal falls thru?

Throw up the head pics! If they're GT40Ps buy them ASAP, that's an awesome price.

If you're going to throw in a cam & decent manifolds, get decent valvesprings coz the stock ones are shit.

I think i might need a cam, because mine didnt really improve greatly from the Explorer and head change....

Some rockers, springs and cam might be on Santas shopping list i think.. Just got to suss out what suits gas the best!

yeah just picked up the heads, theyre GT40P'S!was rapped when i saw that. they were hesitant when i came because they realised what they were after we agreed on $250. so i gave him $260 - $10 out of sympathy. i was expecting GT40's and nop GT40p's. Whats the difference, are p's xr heads??

The GT40 heads were originally designed for the Mustang Cobra (the performance version of the Mustang) and were cast iron.
The GT40P heads originated on the 94 Mustangs and were fitted to the later Explorer 4 wheel drives. The P's are still cast iron.
The GT40P heads flow a little better than the GT40's.

Should make a good difference, mate. To make the most of them you'd want to at least fit Explorer manifolds as well ;) They are pretty cheap these days as well.

I know what i paid for it..., bit more than $300! If you can get one for $300 grab it.

Ive used the hardware on mine, rail and sensors/pipes for it on my current setup so its just a bare upper and lower.

Ive had a few interested people at $400 and i said i would post at my expense, but ive still got it, money talks hey? Ive seen them go for 350-600 (on both ebay and forums) so just depends on the day of the week really. Mine is coming off as well in the new year to make way for straight GRA gas setup so i will have another to rid of eventually. I would take $350 pickup for this one, its in good nick, minimal corrosion on the thermostat area like some high klm ones you see.

excellent luck, that gives me a good indication for mine then... I should be able to get $350 with a bit of patience...

as long as it funds me a good edelbrock single plane carby manifold i will be happy. they are about 300ish from memory?

I can't think of anything better to here from a 5L owner!

Saw a twin turbo V8 Lexus GS400 today with the turbos remote mounted underneath the back of the car where the twin cannons would normally be. Just a bit of useless info that may be of interest.
