wa registered, moving to melbourne

Postby EvLmOnT » May 17th, 2010, 6:08 pm

hey guys im looking at my best options about my car,
im gonna move to melbourne asap and ill be driving my xr6t over which will be re registered easy,
im more worried about my boosted eseries coming over, will it be to hard to register it? am i best to return it to stock then bring it in, should i just strip it and transport all my good stuff over and leave the shell behind?

the fact that you aren't transferring it into another name boosts your chance of a dodgy roady, but chances are still slim, not as easy as it used to be.
if you aren't particularly attached to the car itself i'd do what you said re: stripping the good bits.
use what you save on transport to buy another one.

id prefer not to go into detail as to why im moving over the internet.

If I where u I would strip the Turbo gear out sell the roller and then find a nice eseries over east.
I might be interested in buying the rego shell.

When did that change, when I went from NSW to Vic as long as I owned the car and I could prove I owned the car, Vicroads, checked the engine and said here is a set of plates, please return yours to the RTA.

When i moved to Vic 3 years ago from NSW i didn't need a rwc just did a easy transfer. Only need a rwc if you buying a car from another state & transfer the old reg into your name........... In short make sure the old reg is in your name before you bring it to Vic to do the tranfer..............

Call Vic Roads and ask. Would be the easiest way.

A mate of mine bought a car from NSW about 4 weeks ago and all you have to do is transfer the plates over.
Like tezza said you dont even need to take the car down.
