Hey guys.

Introduce yourself and your ride.

Hey guys.

Postby InfernalTyrant » May 18th, 2010, 9:42 pm

Hey, my name is Chris, I'm from Gippsland in Victoria. I'm 17, music is my main interest. Mainly into metal, all kinds of metal. Favourite genres being thrash, black and death metal.
I've recently bought myself an EA Falcon. It's had a bit of work done on it, it's got a 4.0L fuel injected engine from an EL. It's got extractors, a cam and injectors. Also has an AU interior. It's lowered, has (very scratched) 18" Falcon Cobra wheels.
I'm gonna buy a new head unit for it, then probably get a sub and replace the door speakers. I'm also looking to buy XR8 lights for it, those things look tough as.
Oh yeah, and it has neons! (Don't worry, it came with those, so it wasn't my choice.)

Thanks! To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. I haven't really looked yet. I'm not exactly what you would call 'engine savvy' but I know how a car works and stuff.

I'm also having some troubles staying logged in on this site. I clicked the 'keep me logged in each visit' box, but it doesn't seem to be working.

I have a quick question.
Will the ED XR quad lights fit straight onto the EA without any modifications? Also, is there somewhere that does replicas or something? Because I don't want to spend over $500 on a genuine one if the car's not a genuine XR itself!

He wanted $2500 at first but dropped the price quickly to $1800 because he just bought a new fourby and needed the money.

Welcome! Where abouts in South Gippy are you from? I like the area, I'm in central/south Gippy myself (south of Sale).

twinlights.com.au do quad lights. Genuine XR lights have their parkers in the (genuine XR) clear indicators, dunno how twinlight lights incorporate them.

You won't notice me on the road, I drive a clandestine grandpa B-series.

Cheers

I'm in Thorpdale, it's a really small place not far from Trafalgar.
Yeah I saw that website, but that's still more than what I want to pay. I guess that realistically I won't be getting them much cheaper than $500.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna keep the neons in there, because my mate HATES them so they're fun to piss him off with. But other than when he's in the car, they'll never be on.

Thorpy for the win. Good luck keeping the car blue with all the spud dust.

Keep an eye out on ebay etc for 2ndhand twinlights, if you really want them.

Cheers

Haha, that red dirt isn't really that big of a problem for me, I won't be driving through it or anything, I live right in town.
Yeah I'll definitely be checking out eBay.

Well it didn't really shit itself, but today it proved to be very unreliable.
It stalls at idle, and when driving at idle speed through carparks and stuff it's very jumpy. Now it won't even start. It's more trouble than it's worth. Hopefully I can get my money back and buy something a bit newer. An EL Fairmont or something.

I've got no idea what he'll be like about it.
It does have the newer engine in it though, and it's the same motor that was in Mum's wagon that she had since new until a few months ago and had not a single problem with the engine.

That's not the right thing to do mate..
he can just as easily cancel the reg and you'll be caught for driving an unregistered car..!!
I'd be finding out what the problem is with the car and just fixing it.. this won't be the last problem you have with it... believe me..!!

Yeah true.
I'll call up the old man tomorrow after school and see if he can come around and have a look.
It's not even getting power now, the only electrical things that are working are the clock and the flashing red alarm light. Won't turn over, no lights, no sound, nothing. At first I thought it might have been a problem with the immobiliser but that only stops the engine from getting any fuel. So I've got no idea what it might be.
