Starting out in car modification: Where are the cheap Falcon

Postby bigdude101 » May 27th, 2010, 12:28 am

Hi guys and girls,

I've just returned to the forums after a long hiatus (in the meantime, I got my P's and my own car). After talking to my parents, they've agreed to let me do some short automotive courses at the local TAFE.

I want to find a donor car, so I can practice what I learn. I've read repeatedly (in this forum) that people have bought numerous E-Series for a very low price ($100-300). My big question is, where do you find these cheap Falcons?

Thank you for your response,
Bigdude101

PS: My car is a 1996 Honda Integra

Check logal papers as people often want to flog off old cars. Don't expect a good car for under $500. Other option is eBay.

front yards! halve of the cars that i've got for under $200 have just been sitting in front yards etc or every now and then you can get a good score at the auctions and the like..

Here's one from when I first bought it. All I've added is a bunch of dents and scratches when I was trying to park it in the garage (I had the flu). I think of it as half an EF Falcon XR8 (I'm messed in the head) - it sort of resembles one from the front, it was built in the same era, it has 4 cylinders and 2 doors.

I guess I will need to trawl around the streets of Kambah and Charnwood (Canberra citizens would know where they are) to see if there's an E-series around. Most of the deros/booners/bogans in Canberra drive Commodores and Magnas though.
