Welcome aboard man. The EB looks a lot different to last time I saw it, should look pretty good with some paint. Not a fan of the bonnet though. :P

Damnn looks fair different to when I had it.

I de-kitted it and was planning on a respray and getting it all factory spec.

Went out the window when I got a good offer on it from Crackers.

Made some money from the beast, kinda sad to see it go but not much :) In fact, it's one of the most unreliable cars I ever owned :)

But in saying that, it's the only car I've had that could get it sideways hard when I planted it going around corners with no brake and sht.

yeh looks pretty good there, i like the kits tho

most people dont

once its painted up it will look great, and i garunte it goes hardest now accept for when it had the blower :)

i got the maf sorted and all the fuel mixtures right, good for a mid 13 second pass

once it have 4.11s in it and a 3500 stallie it should break 12's

well its runs mid 13s with no stallie and 3.27 dif gears

stallie and 4.11s it will probs get high 12's

im also looking at a msd ingtion kit off a mate,

and once all thats in ill get it dyno tuned, the fuel mixtures could still be a little bit better

Now I see where you're coming from with your high-12 call. That'll be awesome! What mph are you getting with no stally & 3.27s?

I got my PB -14.78- with 4.11s (still have them) and a 3000 stally (don't have that anymore), my mph was quite low though, 91.48mph. I went back to a stock converter when I blew up my old BTR and although my ET slowed to 14.91, my speed went up to 95mph. Of course, I've got std heads, std cam, std ignition, std fuelling, hence why you're 1.5 seconds ahead of me.

A mate of mine was getting similar times to me with a very similar engine setup (AU MAF + T/B + Explorers, Paceys + exhaust, auto) but with 3.45 gears & no stally. With our engine/driveline setups & times (60ft, half track, etc), it seems that my 4.11s would blow him away on launch but he'd reel me in down the 2nd half of the track. Not that we ever got to race side by side :(

Pretty sure it looked best when I got it and removed the set of gay spotties from the front end, de-badged all the ugly badges off the guards and removed the pinstriping. It looked fair good then.

Then to make all my money back I went nuts removing stuff like the Momo steering wheels, body kit, AJR's and a few other things I can't remember.

If I was in the position I'm in now - I would've bought it for like $3k or whatever Crackhead wanted for it and dumped the junk it to the EL Ghia. That woulda been mad.

Yeah true huh..

I got told it sounded like a 351 with a massive cam by a bogan in Croydon once who owned a XE. He was abuot to convert the XE to 351 so he knew what they sounded like... fair effort I reckon.

It sounded fair sick but it was loud as fk. My neighbour's kids got scared once and she used to complain not by saying anything but by covering her ears and pointing at me everytime I rocked up and she was outside.

Good times.

What did it have again? Edelbrock heads, Explorer intake (Cobra?), 24lb injectors, bigger MAF of some sort, t/b unknown, some kind of lumpy-ass cam like an E303? ECU?

Had a huge MAF not GT or anything like that, bigger. But it was stuffed. Ran better with 19lb injectors and a standard MAF, pinged and performed inconsistently with the big one.

It had Edelbrock Performer heads, Edelbrock 75 or 70mm TB, Explorer Manifold, fully rebuilt motor with probably around 40,000km on it now, one lumpy fk off cam, pretty sure you'd put roller rockers (I think that's what they are) in if you were going to that extent, K+N panel filter and a few other bits along with a new TS50 gearbox.

Standard ECU.

All that H/C/I gear and a std ECU? Plus a claimed mid-13? Fark! My EB runs a bit lean mid-range and it only has AU intake gear!

Explorers are underrated too :D Although with planned 4.11s and a 3500 stally, Jimmy would probably want to swap for a better top-end manifold, as the Explorer is more of an all-rounder. Why retain bottom-end performance when the 3500 will bypass all that...

(Kind of why I decided to drop my 3000, because my E7s & std cam are for bottom end torquey F150 towtruck performance)

With a properly matched MAF/Injector setup theres no reason this couldn't be done.

I spose I should've added that in my case I'm using a 24lb "calibrated" (lol) maf body with the EB 19lb maf sensor -Frankenmaf- and 19lb injectors

But still wouldn't the computer want to fall over and die because of the big cam? Or at least run rough as.... <-- maybe I'm thinking of MAPped 4.0s and their vacuum issues relating to large cams.

ran 13.7 at calder, 106 mph i think it was, while ago now

got the print out some where

yeh im looking to get a edelbrock manifold for it, probably sell the explorer

i like hte chrome edelbrock manifolds

dosent have stock ecu any more, haltech system installed and got it tuned

haha na mate doesnt have 250 rwk..

where do you get those numbers??

rwk dosent = quarter mile times, u need to get the power to the ground

my mates vx ss gen 3 only has 220 rwk and it runs low 14s,

i only just beat him some times somes times he beats me depending on traction and shift changes

i dont even think mine has over 200 rwk, probs 180?

not sure, once i do the stally and 4.11s ill get a proper dyno tune session by then i should also have the msd ignition kit

im considering stroking it or putting a super charger back on it :0

loose the attitude mate

im not a siiick wog that races down chapel for slips cuz

only idiots race for "slips" or people that live in a fantasy world where they think the fast and the furious is real...

and for the ecu yeh its a bit dickie,

stalls and that a bit not easy car to drive with that cam haha im sure sunny will back me up on that,

i managed to get it idiling on about 600 and i dont stall it any more but my mates do haha.

Calm down Jimmy, he meant time slips from Calder, nothing about racing for slips. I'd be keen to see them too, do you remember what your 60ft times were ?

i dont care man

what did i do to him? why give me attitude?

i dont remember what my 60ft times were, its not a race car

i took it down i ran it a few times and was happy, i know how to drive my car

explain this then martyr, 1972 r/t e 49 chargers had 216 killowatts at the motor, they ran 14.1 second quarters right outta the show room floor, with todays fuels and tyres they have broken the high 13 second mark with factory motors, thats 216 kilowatts at the motor,

well under 250 rwk, now why does my car need to have all that extra power to go half a second quicker?

my mates xd wich i now own (less motor) produced with the motor he built over 300 rwk, its best runs were 12s

tons more horse power then me only slightly quicker

there is alot more to it then "rwk" for getting a car from stationary to 400 metres...

Fire up buddy!
If you're gonna come on here with claims of 13 second quarters from a stock stroke 5L EB, be prepared to back them up, don't get all skirty about it.

a handful of people here have driven this car and they know how it goes,

why do you have to bad mouth me being proud of my car?

come on guys...

There's a dude from WA, EB2FLYZ or something like that, he has a 5.0 that runs 13.7s. From memory it has H/C/I, diff gears of some sort (3.7? 3.9?) and a TwEECer. Unsure on transmission, probably manual

As I said waaaaaaay earlier in this thread, 12s is a biiiiiiig call for an n/a 5.0, if you can pull that off that's a major achievement :D Keep us updated on your EB, I've always liked it, only seen it once, when MrCrackers had it (& it sounded nuts)

I've been in it. It didn't 'feel' any quicker than my EL (14.8 @ 95) Maybe Sunny just didn't know how to drive it properly :?
