BLKPHN's JG34 XY

Postby BLKPHN » May 17th, 2010, 3:39 pm

Hey guys and girls,

I guess it was about time i posted some pics up of my XY.

Built Sep 1971.
First regested 18/11/1971.
Ford Fairmont 1971.
Color - Nugget Gold.
Interior -Saddle trim.
Engine - 302 high output. (original Matching number motor)
Trans - C9 ( should really be a C4)
Diff - Borg-warner single.

Mods
GT-HO brake's and booster ( different from the GT ).
GT-HO front spoiler.
Driving lights.
5 slot Gt wheels with red wall tyres.
GS stripes ( not really a GS )
Rear venetions.

Im the third owner, It was repainted about 9 years ago when the second owner first bought it, I haven't done a single things to it ive just put petrol in it and drove it. I was very very surprised how comfortable it was for a 40 year old car, evan if i had stepped out of a F6.

Im planning on fixing a few little things up on it like getting the door trims re-done as the rest of the interior has been re apolusted including the head lining.
as for performance wise the "windsor" will be retired and a stroked 393 clevo with CHI alloy heads and a single blow through turbo will be fitted. It may take some time to aquire the nessisary parts. As a new diff, trans, suspension and fuel set will all need to be replaced but it should reach about 700hp once it is done. This will be a slow build as im new to the carby old school side of things and want to do it right the first time round.

For the mean time im going to keep driving it and enjoying the smooth crusing XY

Pics.

Lovely! Apart from the front spoiler, love everything about it. Please keep it column auto and with the current looks once you get a decent engine in it!

Yeah Im going to keep it as is. Inside and out however i might need a reverse scoop to cover the engine. try and keep it as small as i can.

Nah you can't do much with the 302 windsor block, only stroke it to 347. slow and boring plus i don't want to ruin a matching number block..
