imo he'd be better off with a bf xr6t i mean he says why touch a t3 theyre a stroker but really theyre not that quick a standard xr6t would do one in and a xr6t is so much easier to get more power out of.
i honestly think itd be dumb for u to buy a windsor ev u always say i did this and its not much quicker well if u were to buy a windsor thats part of life where as a xr6t u do a tune alone and ur up 30-50rwkw.
my brothers with just a tune made 253 on like 8 or 9psi and it was very fun to drive (206rwkw when stock on 4psi).
thats my oppinion anyway but its ur decision.
the zf while a nice gearbox dam its expensive to fix and apparently not as strong as people think.
they have a few problems with them in the jags at work anyway.
cheers josh.

I wish I could use PT, but my new job is in bloody North Lavo, no PT out there. I kinda miss working in the city now, was a hell of a lot cheaper travel wise.

That T 67rce's mate is selling is quite nice, but I don't want to spend that much on an AU. Especially when, for the same money, I can get a BF and pimp it. Plus, I cbf buying an interstate car, I'm not Sunny! :P The only thing I would regret about not buying a V8 though is the sound, I do love a good V8 rumble! Other than that, BF is a better option. A T would be sweet, but I would feel too guilty driving it to work every day. Josh is right, BF turbo is much cheaper and easier to make power out of. Not that I would go nuts anyway, exhaust and a tune would do me! Which also means I wouldn't be anywhere near testing the strength of the ZF. Just starting to sound better and better! :P

do some research mate the zf doesnt appear to be as strong as first thought.
they can take the power but not for very long it appears.
id get a t56 just coz theyre strong and u can have heaps of fun to me autos and fast isnt fun u can kick the clutch or anything a t56 u can and pretty much not even worry about it.
it took cat600 on aff 588rwkw and 305 semi slicks to kill one.

It takes a bit more than an exhaust and a tune to kill a ZF, but I'd go T56 just because I <3 manual anything really.

if your seriously contempleting a bf xrt, why not wait a liitle longer and buy a fg, once fg2 comes out the fg xrt's will be a bit more affordable. the guy i bought my xf off has one and its nuts stock, with a tune it would be awesome.

When is FG2 due to come out though? If its not by the end of the year, then I won't wait. Also, even when FG2 comes out, I doubt FG will be in my price range anyway. They are high 30's now afaik.

yeah i thinks its near the end of the year.

hmm, yeah i guess the prices wont fall dramatically for the fg1's...

quick look on egay and this is the cheapest i found, 33k for a zf in seduce.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2008-Ford-Falcon ... 933wt_1137

going by that i wouldn't be surprised to see some in the mid to high 20k bracket by the end of the year, especially if coyote is as good as the hype.

Hmmm, still a bit out of my reach unfortunately. Besides, I wouldn't mind getting a BF while there are still some good nick ones around. I'll start having a look at the end of next month and see what happens.

Well, it's 6am, I've already had a shower and am waiting for my best mate to come pick me up. Off to the US of A bitches!!! :yahoo: Nice hot weather, 4th of July celebrations, pool party, NYC!! Should be a sweet trip! Best part is, my best mate's father-in-law (who we are staying with in Pennsylvania) owns a sprint car team, and its smack bang in the middle of the racing season! Plus, doing the Rocky stairs in Philly, then a couple of days in LA on the way back.
Anyways, as X to da Z would say, its off to the West Coast! See y'all in 19 days!

ZF's aren't bad, but I have heard and read of random failures that aren't due to excessive power. Some are also apparently prone to having the coolant / trans fluid mix like BA1-BA2, and also if you take a speed hump on hard in a lowered car you can crack the plastic sump.

They can handle 320-350 alright, depends how you drive it as always.

T56's are fair gay unless you have 11ty power and a mint clutch, and short throw shifter - but even then, carpark speeds and manouvering is full of annoying clunking and thunking even with a good diff bush. They all have hash rollover noise too, which is like a grindy noise when you're accelerating from a tall gear at a low speed, like up a hill and over a speed hump or around a corner. I've had 3 I know, they are all the same.

FG XR6T's need option 19's and slammage to look good. Go with G6ET and get an LSD put in :P

sunny not 100% here but i think rollover is where u have the box in neutral and u can hear shit grumbling away inside the box, the tr6060 does it heaps worse than the t56, and ford have no fix for it, its just bad luck, goes away when u put ur foot on the clutch, what you are describing is more labouring rather than rollover

It's not labouring, it's the grumble/grind - described on XR6T forums in many a thread as "hash rollover". There is no fix, it's an NCO.

Well I have managed to survive my first week and a bit in America. Haven’t really done much, fireworks on the fourth, went to Philly and saw a baseball game. If anyone thinks Cricket is boring, go watch baseball!! God damn, I had to read a Top Gear magazine to stay awake!
The best thing so far though was going to sprint car race. My mates father-in-law part owns a sprint car, that was pretty cool to watch. Won one of the heat races, but then crashed out of the feature race. I got right up on the barrier to take photos, and got covered in dirt and burnt rubber. Bloody loud, the run an old 350 Chev, direct drive to like a 6.08 diff!

Anyway, as for the car thing, I have been thinking, and an auto turbo is sounding more and more attractive. I like what Sunny said too, as I kinda had a feeling the T56 would be a bit of a pig to daily. My drive home from work is mostly stop start now. I don’t want 11ty kW either, as a good condition stocker would be quick as to me! That, and the turbo is a lot cheaper to do up. Only thing is the engine note, although I’m sure gate/bov/spool or whatever will entertain me!
I want to test drive both T56 and ZF turbo though, once I get back.

Oh, the fvck no Justin!! Not this time mate, I think I have finally learnt from my mistakes there. I mean BF XR6 Turbo ZF FTW! If I can find one with 18's and premo sound, i'll be wrapped!

Shouldnt be too hard to get one with 18s, from what I've seen I'd say half of the BFs have been optioned with them... but then again its also not hard to buy a set of 18s for $500 and throw them on lol.

Tis true krisdog. Besides, if I can't get 18's, it'll just mean I will be spending less on tyres for 17's when I inevitably fry them! :P

That's it Josh, no more attempting to mod cars myself anytime soon! Factory fitted goodness is where its at! I was thinking of just getting the full amount for it, then using what ever poo change I get for the EL at Blue Power. Exhaust, cai and a tune will do me just fine.

Oh, what, so putting an exhaust on a turbo is not as straight forward as putting one on a NA? Stuff it, then I'll just do the remove the centre muffler trick instead, and stick to a Blue Power air box and tune. De-badge, and leave wing and stock ride height for maximum inconspicuousness.

Well, more fail I guess you could say as usual. To be honest though, I am not seeing it as fail though, although I guess everyone else will, but anyway. Went and test drove a BF XR6 Turbo ZF over the weekend, and now I don’t want one. You can call me a pussy or whatever, I don’t care, but it was too quick. I know me, and I am man enough to admit when I am defeated, and a car like that will defeat me. My driving style is too rough, and I do not have the self control to own a car like that. Don’t get me wrong, I did love it! It’s just not for me. It was a tough decision, but I think the right one in the end.
So, after all that, it looks like I am stuck with this shit box for a little while longer. If and when I do look for another car, I think it will be another AU again (yeah yeah!). Kris mate, looks like you were right all along! :P A T series would be sweet, but even a good XR8 would do me. So, yeah, flame away………..

oh btw a free flowing exhaust on a factory ba/f/fg turbz can cause oil leaks through the turbo
i think ya made the right decision, ya would have wanted to do more and more on the bf coz its so easy.
stay outa debt for now til you find the exact car that you want...

Oh, I know I would have done more with it! The plan was to take it to Chris as soon as I sold the EL! There is no way I would have been able to handle it, especially with upped boost! I think if I am going to get into debt, at least be for a car that may hold a little value like a AU T series.
