you can get done for anything! the cop doesn't need any proof to say you did something wrong, so if they decide you were 'hooning' then you're stuffed.
A mate of mine has been done twice in his SS, once in the wet got a tiny bit sideways and got caught, the next time he acidentally spun the wheels in the wet which is very easy to do... so one more time and see ya later car.
i could understand it if hooning was doing nuts in peak hour traffic or out the front of a school, but its not.

I agree with you there, Unfortunately some cops are morons and can't tell when something is or isn't an accident. Wet weather should be looked at a little more carefully because it is very easy to accidentally spin the wheels.

If I was your mate I would be taking those cops to court. He should have a very good chance because that is bullshit.

Apart from these unfortunate cases I do believe crushing the cars of life endangering drivers is a great idea. Especially when they are highly modified because it will hit them where it hurts.

dude, your last car was highly modified with a ba engine... and looks like your ef has an au motor so it could be put in the same catagory. Your cars (and mine) could be endangering our lives because they are modified, which is what the authorities would say, so would it be a good idea to crush them?

If you dont need any proof to be done for hooning then it would be hard to get off with no proof..

"accidental" isn't a defence.
so that makes your "taking those cops to court" comment super retarded to the max x2.
the x2 obviously being because if you did take it to court, you'd look like something of an idiot because the police officers statement, which the judge will hold in a higher regard then your own, will read something like "I observed the vehicle out of control due to a sustained loss of traction. it was a busy road, there were small children playing nearby in the street, he had a gun to an old ladies head, and he was selling crack cocaine while shooting up smack and sacrificing a virgin. i concluded he posed a significant risk to fellow motorists".
meanwhile you are standing there saying "but it was a accidents sir :( "

you've never gone to take off from an intersection/set of lights/roundabout and had it unexpectedly step out with barely any throttle because of a greasy road?

just to add to that, pre hoon laws, a **** cop could still do you for that.
"failure to keep full control", sub $200 fine (from memory $140? i'd have to drag up my fine), no points.
now it's a hooning offence.
fairly large step up in punishment.
and thats what it's about.
it's not about whether 'hooning' should illegal. it is, and it always fucking was.
if you want to argue about that, go die in a fire cause you're an idiot and you're contaminating the gene pool.
the point is, the punishments are bullshit, they don't match the crime, they aren't fair, and it's not a genuine attempt at doing anything about the road toll like they are claiming.
it's a stunt, a game, and anyone who treats their car as more then just transport are the ones getting played.

we're not meant to have minds of our own, we're all meant to be mindless droves who have 11ty babies and pay $1mil for a house and spend the rest of our lives paying them off, and thus not have money to buy luxuries like modified cars.

Exactly, "accidental..." What drugs is ya mate on Parfrey? A bog stock VZ Execitive will spin in the wet, so a SS would be easy. Any driver with more than 5 minutes experience would know that.
He would loose 100 if he ran it through the courts. Firstly they are coming down hard on hoons. Secondly it a Commodore driver with two offences against a police officer. It doesn't take an Einstien to work out the outcome.

It is possible to accidentally spin the tyres in the wet wtf? You might be in a manual in the wet and suck at hill starts, that's not a crime. Even in an auto. You might be at a round about and miss judge the speed of a car coming and lose a little traction taking off. All accidental and genuine mistakes. Obviously proving it is a different matter and police having the power to book you under whatever legislation they want is the problem.
Its a stack of f*ck shit, on top of itself niggaaaaaa

Im pretty sure even teh wagon when it was CFI accidently spun wheels at lights. Doesnt take much of a wet road + white painted lines to do it.

Meh, everyone buy Prius's and be ghey!

Agree totally Jared, people who love there cars look after them no matter what they are. Lowering a car, provided its properly done (shocks, camber kit, swaybars, etc, actually makes it better to drive. But try telling that to the rule makers.

taken me out of context a bit, my own fault, it's hard to get my contention if you don't read the post after that.
i agree with parfey, i don't think his mate is on drugs, i've had to pedal mine at greasy roundabouts/intersections before, and it's only luck that i'm not in the same situation as him.
i was disagreeing with what edfairmont4.0 said.
i meant accidental isn't a defence in the eyes of the law.

Just to demonstrate how piss weak the offence can be to get impounded when we lost the calais at summernats we were only 15km/h over but because there was another car next to us it was deemed as "promoting & advertising street racing" 6 demerit points.. 3 for speeding.. 3 for promoting racing which carries the impound... if we go back and get done again... our car is confiscated...

Such a fair system that fits the crime :banghead:
-Black VZ Calais 5.7ltr V8, cammed, stalled, built auto, 3.7s trutrac, FR19s and the rest. - 270rwkw 1/4 12.7 @ 112mph

-ENVI Green 04 BA XR6T ute, hardlid, 20s, bigger injectors, fuel pump, bigger cooler, dose pipe! dyno tune - 236rwkw

This is just a start of Nazism in this Country.
I agree with some form of Punishment for Hoons.
That refuse to do the right thing on the Road.
We Have race tracks to use even if there not up to scratch.
But to crush some ones pride and joy. ?????????
I was driving down the road . Pulled into a turning lane. A cop whent past did a u turn and then pulled me over only to tell me my car was the wrong colour and that if I didnt have a good excuse they would tow my car. I was in my SPL car which is many colours and when i sstarted to explain he accused me of being a smart arse and was going to tow my car. I just happend to be in a suit going to a business meeting with my wife and show of the new system we had just aquired. WHAT RIGHT DO THESE @#$% COPS HAVE TO TREAT US LIKE THIS WHEN I PROMOTEALL THE KIDS TO GOTO THE TRACKS TO HAVE FUN AND NOT ON THE STREET. THIS IS NO SOLUTION AS THE KIDS ARE ALLREADY TALKING ABOUT HAVING DUNGERS TO MUCK AROUND WITH ON THE STREET TO HAVE THEM GET CRUSHED FOR THE FUN OF IT.

OH WELL ...... kids will be Kids
