Ideas for EB

Postby MARCH HARE » September 9th, 2010, 4:33 pm

Hi guys. New to this forrum. Just bought an EB falcon 4.0. It's a very neat stocko in Stark White. Plans are to swap the auto for a 5speed eventually. My lady and i want to concentrate on the exterior to start with.

This particular car is new to me as i have spent my entire life rooting around with Toranas, HG and HQ Monaros and an endles list of XA-XB's including a 74 XB falcon 500 coupe. I just finished a HQ GTS Monaro running a 383 stroker sbc and 9". My current car is a 74 XB Fairmont Sedan which i converted to an XA before turning it into a Mad Max replica ( March Hare, hence the user name)

It's cool to have so many parts readily available for the EA-ED models and I already have alot of ideas for ours. I want to keep it pretty simple but at the same time a little bit unique. Body kit, wheels, lowered etc. I have looked at a few pics of projects on here and some of the comments made by users and I know I am gonna cop it from yas  But having been right into Mad Max replica building for the last few years I have developed a pretty thick skin :P

I'll post some pics of the new project and update in over time and take all criticism, good and bad.

thanks

Ignore the idiots that complain about newbie questions. They seem to forget that they too were at the same place (and some of them not that long ago).

First off welcome to the forum. Sounds like you've had some nice rides. Springs and shocks arent that expensive, you can try and pickup second hand superlows/ultralows if you want. Some people get away with running standard shocks for a while.

There are a few aftermarket rims around or even AU-FG rims in Eseries offset can be had for good prices.

A tip to make your car stand out without spending much is just to keep it nice and polished, lowered with a zorst. (prices can vary depending on what you want, but you can also pickup a cheapish cat back on ebay new or second hand!) Clear front/side indicators, 5 speed conversion etc etc.

Stay away from the clear tail lights if you dont want too much bagging. Unless of course you really like them.

Haha, funny you should say that. I do like the clear tail lights but i think i will probably go for something a little different. Am on the look out for something new that comes close to fitting the tail light recess. I did see alot of bagging on other threads in regards to the clear "altezza" style lights'. I'm sure no matter what I do will not be to everyones taste but thats life.

As for wheels there are just far too manny nice looking examples to choose from, all I know is i will NEVER fit 20" wheels to any car ever again :|

18s/19s of a 5 spoke design generally look great, something with dish even better. Superlow springs up front, ultras rear as most of the time these cars still sit at a bit of angle with the same springs front n rear.
I think kits like this one from SSV look good http://ssv.com.au/product.php?BKP081, much better than this rot lol http://ssv.com.au/product.php?BKP082 .

Yeah...that is nice. MMM kit is definately my pick. Alan Moffat style kit is a close second. Like I said, EB is very new to me. First car I've ever had that don't have steel bumpers, but like most cars you can really alter the look.

Thanks

Well said Stevo! If you want clear tailights, check out phatels thread on the EL Turbo he had. He always got positive comments on those, they were as white/bright looking. (not being biased either lol)
