my new daily

Postby scorcher » September 11th, 2010, 3:48 pm

well decided to get a new daily, something thats half decent. ended up coming across a series III au xr8 manual ute in blueprint. it is also on gas.
in pretty good condition with 160k on the clock. since having it home i have pulled the 20's of the EA in the shed and chucked them on.
its got a half decent exhaust on it that sounds quite nice!! :good:
i haven't got many plans for it but i am sure that will change! haha i think msd coil packs and new leads will be one thing and maybe a new bonnet with a bulge.
here it is on the way home from picking it up with my mate in his BF XR8

yeah a couple people had said that, yeah i think that i just need some silver agents or something simular.
started doing a couple things to it, and i haven't even had it for a week
got 2 remotes with it of which none of them worked, so i pulled them apart and found the battery part fallen off the circuit board part so i fixed them back together and managed to get one working.
once i had it working coded it to the ute and then found that it wasn't locking the car for some reason. keeped unlocking al the time!! :nothappy
so i pulled the locking actuator out of the drivers door and found that plastic gear broken!! so i put it all back together and then got on ebay and order a new one.
whilst i had the door trims off i noticed the speakers in the doors had alreay been replaced with alpine splits!! nice

another thing was i put another stereo surround in as the stereo didn't seem to be fitted up quite right and was a bit loose, so i soon fixed that!!

haven't checked to see what is in the rear speakers yet but also found a Amp under the passenger seat going off to all 4 speakers so gave that a tweak and got some more sound out of the speakers.. :layrubber

for some reason the LCD in the instrument cluster was only lighting up half of it so i pulled in out tonight and had a fiddle with it and got it all lighting up properly..

I actually think both the stock and the current rims look good. I guess you can change them over when ever you feel like it.
