Postby monstermk2 » July 27th, 2010, 5:42 pm

hey guys, . just wondering for those in VIC, .how hard is it to book deca out up in shep, for a day, cause it would be awesome to put a few nice E series, around the skid pan, and video it, .

whats ppls thoughts.

5k for the day and you need to provide public liability and event insurance. Costly exercise. Gv car club hold open days so do other clubs.

its a great day....do your self a favour...stay the night in the nearby caravan park....makes life soo much easier...esp those cold early mornings up in shep.
ive done it 2 years in a row with another car club....be prepared to break something. both myself and dylan have damaged our clutches at deca :) you kinda dont know when to stop.

and make sure you prep activities (drifting, time trials, etc) ...skid pan all day gets boring otherwise.

yes it is expensive...however between a large group it wont be bad...i think we had 50 cars and it was about $120 for 2 days entry...correct me if im wrong dylan/bentley. and dont worry you get plenty of track time :)

count me out on events...but im in to watch :)

yeah its very expensive and im pretty sure you need some liecence or some shit. not just any club can rent it out.

as brad said it was 120 for a 2day event.
i went 2 years in a row and had clutch problems both years. like i was told by theo @ bluepower "deca kills cars!"

I am more worried when a clutch lets go, like one did the last time I wa there!

Do you thin 'skid pan' days are fun with FWD?
Unless I re-register my XR8, I don't want to take the Laser if it will not be fun!

Off memory, I think Dave Heath took his Mazda out in the past.

Yeah DECA days are awesome :) but as everyone has said they are a bit on the pricey side.. The GV Car Club usually has 2 open days a year, i think its $140 for the whole day, and you can win prizes etc. Morning is usually free skid sesh to dry out the pan then have 3 way drags and motorkhana(SP?) etc.. Awesome fun :good:

And I'd be down for any DECA event held, i live in the area :)

hey guys, old topic, but found some info for anyone who is interested . .

http://www.deca.com.au/FastFactsSheet.a ... &State=VIC

cost per day is $3180

and unless im not understanding it correctly, that doesnt have medical requirements, . .

so if anyones interested, . .might start a bit of a list, and see how many we can get to attend, and thus, make it an affordable day

Pretty sure GV Car Club doesn't do them any more due to cost, and all others are usually organised through clubs (not advertised like the GVCC ones were). Probs best to keep an eye out on other forums or car event pages?
