HELP ME!

Postby 98NLFAIRLANE » December 22nd, 2007, 12:53 pm

GUYS!

dad took my beast down the coast yesterday and apparently its really starting to S*** him off.

apparently everytime he braked, the CD PLAYER decided to change songs by itself, and then the second time he would brake the cd would decide to change... he almost decided to roll it off a cliff..

if ANYONE has heard of anything like this before please tell me how I can fix it, or what needs to be replaced. its the most retarded thing that I have ever heard of so I am not sure if you guys would be able to give me any words of wisdom, though I would be appreciated if you have any!

yeh sounds like a loose wire or a dead headunit.

is it when the brakes are used or is it when the car slows beacause of the brakes.
as in if the car is stopped i assume pushing the brake has no effect. meening it would be something loose. try just pull the headunit out and check all the wires in the back.

I have been pissing my self laughing at some of the helpful hints so far, as far as I know, its only when the brakes are applied in motion, therefore it COULD be a loose wire... the head unit might be on the way out seeing as it is stock hence I didn't install it myself, the friggin factory did... will have to investigate how to pull the head unit out in a day or 2...

keep the info coming as something tells me it can't be that simple as a loose wire.

Sounds like it is man - by CD player I assume you mean the factory stacker? The plug at the back of the stacker could be loose or something. Other than that, you could have an internal fault in the head unit or stacker, or even a dodgy earth...are any of the buttons on the head unit suspiciously loose?

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

yeah its the factory stacker and head dect which is a tape deck.

I will check the plug for the stacker today and possibly even attempt to take out the tape deck later this arvo. I am hoping its an internal fault though cause I am looking for a reaon to get dad to get me a newer head deck :D:D:D

and as far as I have noticed there are no loose buttons on the tape deck though I will go double check.
