i run 3.9s in my xr8 and if could go back and do it again id go the 4.11s

remember you have 4 gears and a lock up convertor

my xr8 does about 2300 2400 at 100ks you dont even know you have them till you stand on it off the lights and smoke the tyres off it :drinks2:

If you fit 4.11s to you car i think it will drop into the 14s with some mucking around and a good launch not that 4litres get out of the hole any good

your not looking for a bumped up stall convertor are you? i have one i went to a 3000 one and have a 2300 (depending on cam) stall and have no use for it $350 if you want it

me and the bro ended up going on a massive parts hording trip today. we were just meant to go to Calder BP and pick up this for the EB

Image

complete. $300! YEAH!

but then we were like "hey let's go to pick a part" sick awesome idea.
but then i had to go to the Ford plant and take pics

Image
Image
Image

went to pick a part. not much there. but then i got onto a guy off boosted falcon. my brother wanted to look at stuff for his Fairlane. so off we went to Currum Downs. but we only got about 100m to Bayford. we wasted an hour and alot of money buying N.O.S stuff. they were having a one day sale. so awesome. got brand new Motorcraft front struts for $20 a pair! score

we finally made it to currum downs. massive drive from Campbelfield. got some more bits, gunna have to go back though

then headed home but meet another guy in sunbury and bought more stuff. damn horders lol

i also picked up a second manual conversion. one is a EA box. one is a EB box. i heard the EA box is weaker and has shorter ratios. so my guess would be to put that in the EB seeings as it won't be turbo

You wont have to worry about blowing a t5 out of anything with the power you have. Your right,1st gear in a EA box is shorter then EB. Not real shure about being weaker though? Twin lights look the goods!

Put the one with short gears in the EB.

You dont need short gears in a turbo EA.

EB boxes have a reverse synchro but I doubt they are stronger. If you want manual and turbo go T5Z or T56, anything else is just tempting the inevitable
