well i got a call yesturday and the ute will be getting towed to altona to a racv assesment center ( for flood damaged cars only)

fingers crossed it all get given the ok and i can start working on it again :beg:

if they repair it, will they fix it back to how you had it? or would they just put a stocker in?
would depend what was listed on the policy i assume?

did you put all the stock engine cover, air intake, spring's etc back on it ?
as john said, if it's insured as a "stock" car....
any little thing they can pick to get out of covering it they'll tick.

i wouldn't be worried about them seeing modified stuff and denying the claim.

i'm just thinking of the cash he's just spent getting the cam etc done.

all down the drain if they replace the motor with a stocker

it would be good if they assessed the car, come to the conclushion that it would cost x amount to fix and just gave you the money. i know it mean's you would have to do the work but that's the way i would want it. might be worth asking.

yeah its what is listed on policy as its listed as a stocker ( due to cam and emissions etc etc)

not sure if it will be rebuilt or what at this stage. if racv will only pay for a stock rebuild i will throw in a few dollars to get my cam put back in while new motor is being built

ive got all the stock bits in the back of the ute. springs isnt an issue as it still looks stock, just level in the back really.

well ill get a cam fitted anyway. but all depends on how it gets accesed

well i dont think they will as they wont know the real damage till the motor is apart. and then if they find more shit wrong then it gets difficult with insurace etc etc
and i dont have enough time to do the work myself. if it goes through insurance id rather them to do the work. then if something goes wrong its not my problem lol. but ill help them on it after hours when i can.

Yep, would be really awesome! Oh, and his VT LS1 with a catback exhaust, auto & 3.07 gears is an absolute animal - so fast it doesn't actually need the nitrous at all!

car was spose to be towed to assesment center today and it didnt happen. called them and they say 2moro it will happen now.
but i know i guy who works at racv and hes saying most the cars are getting written off as it is alot easier than repairing them

It wouldnt be cheap to buy back thats for sure... a stat write off gxp went for 18k a few weeks back. Also the hassle and pain of VIV... if its a write off take your money and run, and buy a VZ maloo... same engine less weight = faster times at the track
