Devo's Fairlane

Postby Devo » April 23rd, 2011, 6:09 pm

Hey everyone my names alex but my nicknames Devo, a few years ago i bought myself a zd fairlane when i was 15, then bought another because the first one was completely rusted out.. anyway heres a before picture of my fairlane, it was in acrylic primer when i got it and i thought that would save me some work but they had bogged over rust and stuff so i had to go back to metal and cut out rust and weld new stuff in then prime it all over again, but in two pack..
Image
and i did all the bodywork myself, and i have done everything else my self up until now except for laying down the final colour which i took down to work (Noel and Les Car Detailing) and they painted it for me

and now up to date, ive started putting it back together

all thats left to do is get the seats retrimmed (its at the trimmers now), finnish my bonnet (which will be painted black), put a hoodlining in (waiting for one) and chuck the front and back windows in, then it will be pretty much finnished.. oh i also have a set of svo rims which ive 2k primed and theyre ready for paint but im not sure if im going to put them on anymore and i might just sell them..
im hoping to finnish it off by my birthday in july! then im going to start my next project which will be a black xd fairmont with a turbo 4.0, t5 and 9' diff

I've always had a fondness for highlighter yellow paint. Looks like a promising build.

the guy has obviously worked hard on the car and that is commendable
but imo the car is a cruiser not a muscle car.
why try and make it something its not.
whats wrong with chrome and a nice factory colour.
each to thier own i spose.

imo the colour is more suited to a car like a hemi cuda

lol i dont really give a **** what that one dude thinks about the colour! i painted it that colour because i didnt want to paint it some shit old brown (the original colour)! when did anyone ever say it was a mucle car? if your implying i tried copying a mopar or somthing your wrong, i just prefered black with the citric acid instead of chrome and citirc acid!

I think the coulor suits it perfectly. It wouldn't work if it was sprayed onto some riced up civic but I like it.

yeh i did imply that painting it that colour was better suited to muscle car BUT I NEVER SAID IT WAS A COLOUR JUST FOR MUSCLE CARS. imo it dosnt suit a cruizer like an zd.
get the fuk over it.
its just one guys opinion FFS.
