I wouldn't say a T5 will be fine with that kinda power.
it'll likely handle it for a while, but given the way Ev drives, i can't see it being a long term option.

but yeah, you might screw 250rwkw from your AU, but will that make you happy?

if you're even *considering* upgrading to an XR6T, then commit to it and do it.
no point modding a car your unsure on.

Yeah an XR6t would be the better option, just confuses me as to your reasons for getting one.

After a few weeks of driving a car with a bit of power you'll get used to it and want more for sure!

i would say put a charger on. but as has been said you will just give up anyway.
i vote keep the car you have and dont change another thing on it.
just drive it.
if your not even going to use the power of a stock xr6t then why bother.

Ken Oath 250rwkW would make me happy!!! Shit, the 195rwkW I had in my first AU was sweet! That killed the stock spec clutch I had though, so I imagine anything over 200 will kill this clutch also. Plus, John is right, my driving style is pretty rough when I try and drive fast. I'm sure I could make it last, but then that defeats the purpose of modding it at all.

Basically, the main reason I want an XR6-T ZF is that it is a much more suitable work daily. Would be easier in traffic and all that, but still has the power when I want to be a spaz.

Holmsy raises a very valid point also. This will probably end up being the outcome.

Instead of throwing go fast bits at it (seeing as you dont want the power really) how about just making it handle insanely good? Bigger swaybars, Coilovers etc??

keep it, cam it and valve springs and some 1.7 roller rockers and it should make 200rwkw and thatd cost u what $2000 maybe $3000 or so.
if u say a xr6t has scary power u should just mod this a bit and get a bit more out of it.
ull get sick of an auto as uve had a fair few cars converted to manual now?
im sorry but i dont think ull get what ur asking for it ive seen a few go for 10-12,000 i know urs has a kazz and exhaust but it doesnt really add that much to it.
cheers josh.

Its obvious your looking for a hobby, and cars just arent doing it for you. My wife would make kebabs from my nuts if i had a bipolar interest in cars such as yourself

My advice would be to start playing guitar, learn knitting or even strap a camera to your shoe and go shopping then post the vids here.

Well I don't really want to sell it, thats why it is advertised at a premium price. I have fallen in love with it all over again during the weekend! Went for a bit of a cruise down the GOR on Saturday night, and I must say, in 3rd with the windows down the exhaust note sounds mint as bouncing off the cliff walls!! Plus it seems to grip a lot better than I thought it would, just need to get some sway bars happening.
As sweet as coil overs sound Pete, they are way too expensive for me. I definitely don’t have the skill to make use of a setup like that, so would be a waste.
I am actually really liking Josh’s idea of aiming for 200rwkW na, that would be awesome! Might give that a crack before anything else. At the very least it should build a better base for boost!

Everything is for sale at the right price! :D

Well, bloke from work just took me for a spin in his sons car. VT Berlina with a cammed up LS1 and worked auto, and now I want to do mine up NA!! Bloody thing hammers!! Apparently putting out 280rwkW, and lumpy as hell! I want that sound in my life now! :P
So, what sort of cam can I get that is going to give me that awesome lumpyness, but still drive ok?

Thanks John, thats a Trickflow Stage one cam right? Might start looking around for cams now. I think that and a set of 1.7 rollers and a tune should see close to 200rwkW right?

With a proper tune it would have been pretty close to 200 I think...
Mine had a unichip with a mail-order tune which I really dont think that highly of (previous owner got it done). Got up and boogied though, Just seemed to be running really rich.

But yeah, needs intake, good exhaust (which you have), big cam and tune. They are damn nice to drive with a bit of power! I reckon just do a few go-fast mods to the engine, keep it NA, swaybard and just drive the darn thing.

If you put a big na cam in it fuel economy is going to suffer and give you something else to whinge about.

Seriously Ev, I don't mean to be nasty, but the whole world can see that it's destined for fail. You and old modified cars do not mix - you cannot seem to accept their compromises. Why can't you see this?

If you must have some kind of performance buy a stock FG XR6T, tune it and then leave it. Better yet, buy a Camry :P

Im gonna go against the grain here and say, go for it, its right within your price range (half of $10k), and your sorta limited to 9psi with those raptor kits right?? So even if you wanted more, you couldnt. Suits you to a t I think. :drinks2:
