Need help!

Postby ford_nut » June 9th, 2011, 6:41 pm

Hey guys a opportunity has arisen for me to swap my el fairmont for a boosted Ed manual fairmont, I thought of keeping the el and boosting that but undecided, what do you guys think? And what sort of k's do you see to a tank in a mild boosted Eseries?

Cheers guys

El is regency red, factory sunroof, Cappa leather interior, duel fuel, lowered, 17's, and has 2 1/2 cat back

And the Ed I believe is the old EDGHIA however it has been boosted with log manifold set up and apparently has a new motor and box out of a eb xr6 and has had the front bar hacked to fit the cooler Image

If you want fuel economy as a priority then stick with the EL. I know that B series turbos get between 400km-500km per 65ltr tank so i'd imagine E series wouldn't be far behind but forced induction vehicles can be thirsty under load but I guess so can non boosted cars but not to that extent.
EDIT: That EDGHIA gets around lol

Before I went turbo I was getting 380 to a tank. After turbo I'm getting 550 to a tank. That's with an el engine with mild boost.

You would have to ask Paul what boost it's been running but I was getting that with 218rwkw and it wasn't much worse above the 250rwkw. I'll admit I do granny her which helps get good k's but until I get a better flowing turbo I don't really have the choice as it's good at killing pistons with the pos that's on it.

Oh and I agree with the Ed. Early e series ftw!
