Whats your dream project?

Postby vegabass » June 26th, 2011, 7:02 pm

I know people on here who have an interest in more than just falcons, personally I like many brands and cars from different eras. Lately I have been thinking that I should use my falcons for what they were intended for and have a project to fulfill my tinkering addiciton.

Whats your dream project? Im not talking about a super unrealistic car such as a new lambo or Bugatti either, could be a XY GT or a Mini cooper.

Persoanally this is mine, A 1958 MGA it just stirs my emotions.

I'd love to re-spray my EF ghia in a nice deep shiny black, nice and low how it is now, something similar to BA XT SR 17" wheels, or the BF mkII ghia wheels, 6 speed manual, V8 super charged, re-trim the leather... I reckon that would make a smick cruiser.

My dream is to build an NA/NC/DA/DC, Burnt Orange colour, Territory Turbo/F6X Driveline, airbags, 20s, all the trimmings...

I will do it, its just how long it takes for me to find the good donors to suit the build

Hmm, well a couple people I've told this to I'd love my ranchwagon on the road still lookin fairly plain jane rough overall, bit rough, bit low, but bags, spark blocks under the ass, and a stupid amount of power up front, so you can cruise along the highway at a 100, knock it back a gear, dump the ass crabbwalking sideways throwing sparks and smoke in a massive 20ft unkept looking wagon, just something that looks out there, but still trips people out when it reacts.
I may get it on the road, but may never do the power side of things, but hey you never know.
As what I'd want would be the most I could get out of fitting under that hood, no blowers out the bonnet, although dropping crossmembers and modifying inner guards substantially wont be out the question. even tiwn turbo/blowers etc. would be considered

XR falcon or fairmont for me. Just basic oldschool cool including bench seats and venetians but with injected windsor and 4 speed auto. Just a pretty basic but cool cruiser.

That or a HR Holden done in the same cruiser style with a VL Turbo motor

Any of these options would suit me Im not too picky:

A modern day Twin Turbo GT from the USA

to build a XY similar to Gonzo's big block (runs high 8s)

or a sweet early gen Camaro in either style;

Definitely a Crown Vic - I can even forgive it for being the Caprice's arch rival in Persian Gulf regions until its discontinuation.

Either a '77 LTD or WB Caprice.

But above all, something like this:

The easy way to do what I want would be to buy a pre-modified 11 second XR6T secondhand and proceed to fit bumpers, skirts, wheels etc from an XT.

I'd love to build a GT40 MKIV style with an alloy blocked TT Windsor and a Gulf-Western paintjob.
A Greens-Tuf mockup with a turbo 429 Windsor, and a 70's Rolls-Royce Corniche or Silver Shadow with an LSx motor, whitewalls and the suspension replaced with a normal airbag setup.
