When you look at 'TC cortina' in parts on ebay you get 176 results

When you look at 'AU falcon' in parts on ebay you get 2,283 results

I think you chose the harder one to do up. granted they are not all relevant but it gives a good indication of the availability in general. Also they are much easier to find at wreckers.

so after all the advice in this thread, in the end youve settled for a 39 year old Cortina

yeah man,it's cheap and in mint condition, and i will have enough money to do it up a little :)

i assume when you say "do it up" you mean V8 toploader & 9" ??

if so, then i hope you have the funds to undertake the project......... if not then it will be an old pos that will chew your wallet, & still be worth $500 when you sell

i can appreciate restoring an old car, but unless its somthing special and you work on an oil rig, i cant see it being a great choice for an first car

i know my first car was an old Datsun 260Z coupe because it looked cool, then i brought it home and found out how much work was actually involved it bringing it up to a decent spec

young fellas these days have got it easy....... less than 5k will get you a fuel injected car with airbags, comfy seats, plenty power etc
