remps's NEW xr6!!!

Postby remps88 » July 10th, 2011, 5:47 pm

HEY ALL!

thought id throw up a new thread, instead of just going in the show us ya bf, cause i am one to take a lot of pictures. :D

For those of you that dont know me, im Remps, live up north east vic, in Wangaratta. I just turned 20.

well, my first car i brought at 17. a nice sexy Fantasy coloured bf. loved her. did all my mods, got millions of good looks, and then, wet roads on the way to footy, red gum trees, and a kinked chassis later, i was in the market for a new car. :(

with insurance paying out a nice sum, i searched and searched. 4 weeks later, had looked at something like 2000 cars on the net, and gone and seen about 15 in person. and i narrowed it down to two.

long story short, in the end i picked up this baby.

Image

what we have here is a fine example of a bf 2006 xr6 na. colour is ego. it came with:

20 inch wheels, deep chrome dish and black spokes, very smooth ride.

Pedders shortened shocks and ultra low springs all round.

Upgraded headlights with the blue/white colur instead of yellow tinge (i dont know much bout lights. :)

Full Leather interior

Premium Sound option, with aftermarket dvd player mounted under the factory screen and linked in through a switch.

6 Speed manual :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Pacemaker extractors and a full exhaust system that is a beautiful deep note, not too loud down low revs, and once you open her up above 3500, sounds amazing, coming out of a nice twin tip.

reverse parking sensors.

only a baby at 80,000km on the clock.

xr6 turbo intake and k and n panel filter in place.

blutooth phone hand-free already hooked up

needless to say, im in love. :) very very happy, i picked it up friday night from melbourne, and the whole drive home i couldnt stop smiling. :) over 1200km around town clocked up over the period of sat, sat night and sunday arvo. worth the fuel bill.

remps plates go on monday morning when i get into vic roads.

and here are the pics iv been able to get with this miserable cloudy weather.. cannot wait till i get good sunshine and you can see the amazing pearl through it! sorry bout the iphone quality. but its the best i got untill i get a professiional shoot done..

some of my favourites.

First Falcon I've seen with the same rims from my XR8.

Nice car, egos the best colour & it has some top options.

They're not aftermarket mate.

Previous owner must of grabbed some second hand ones and slapped them in. No biggie!

oh yeah, sorry thats what i meant. just meant they werent there right from the factory. but ill still probably call it "factory leather" if i ever chose to sell it. haha.

might need to chase up a trimmer and get the door trims done. ah well, not the most important thing. at the moment i have it booked in for my subs and amp to be put in monday. and a full cut polish detail done the same day. :)

searching for ways to get rid of the rattle in the rear view mirror.
have a boot latch problem.. 50% of the time when i unlock it with the key or use the button inside, it makes a rough shuddering noise. still unlocks it, just really annoying...

AND, i currently own two slimline "remps" plates.. but the old plates he has are slimline at the front, which is fine, the holes line up perfect.. but the back one was normal size, and doesnt have holes for the slimline plate... do i have to cut new holes? should i buy a bigger plate? what do i do with the old holes if i get new ones. etc etc..

If you didn't mind forking out for a new plate I would get a new plate. I recon normal on the back and slim on the front looks good.

cheers zaney. :)

thanks icer.

yeah kocho all good ideas. :) back is debaged already, only the ford badge left.. thinking of ditching the ones on the side shortly when i have time. spoiler off, will be happening as soon as i can chase up a DJR bobtail for it. :D quad exhausts will be the furthest mod cause im loving the sound of her at the moment. gonna let the effect of the new sound and first manual wear off a bit before i change it up. and sunroof, very keen for tax to arrive. :D saw it last night in an underground parking lot, looked dark, tint was impossible to see into, black rims, looked low, and just thought, the stance of it with a sunroof is gonna be fucking beautiful! :D:D:D
