shit to clean engine parts at home?

just wondering what i should use to soak pistons and conrods in to clean off any carbon and what not?

I use high grade kero for oily bits, cleans them up good after a week or so. Not sure how it would go with carbon deposits...
Brake cleaner is good stuff though.

Kero works pretty good on carbon, use a parts cleaning brush or 40 old toothbrushes to loosen the carbon off after it's been soaking for a bit.
If you can find a servo with a kero pump it's under $2 a litre, **** buying bottles of it from Bunnings lol

if you have heaps of carbon to move, gasket stripper does a mad job of it. Just don't get it on anything else lol.

Yeah it's quite expensive if you buy the little bottles lol.
We managed to get a couple of 44s of chopper fuel for nix, works well enough!

Edit: use a dish washing brush. Works sweet
