Obscure Cars

Postby EFFalcon » October 19th, 2011, 1:45 pm

being in our own small corner of the world, theres a large range of cars that we simply don't see in our neck of the woods.

soo... a thread to showcase things that other people might not be aware of.

My thunderbird was a key example, a lot of people unaware thunderbirds were produces beyond the 60's/70's where they were historically large luxo convertibles.

I'll start off with the 80's Mercury Cougar, based on the Ford Fox platform.

When most people think the Cougar, they think of either:

OR

The 80's style was very... toned down, much like everything of that era, like mustangs etc.

VERY odd cars - this is the style of his current one, which is what you'd call their "mainstream" model  Unbelievably good to drive though for something out of the 60s - if you closed your eyes you'd swear you were in a modern car, they are SO quiet and smooth.

Mini Moke!
Image

Always loved these, can get them without the roll bar, and also fold down windscreens, which makes the highest point of the vehicle the seat!

(Have seen someone with a decked out bus store their moke in a modified luggage compartment)

Edit:
Found the fold down windscreen one!

The difference here is that this one actually looks good.

Really enjoying seeing these obscure rides. Looking forward to seeing more too.
