Who says I'm not interested in the cars or the club? A lot of cars on here are shit but there are still plenty of cars that I like to read about.

I can't troll facebook because I cant handle 25,000 updates a day about how insignificant a fellow boosted falcon member's day is. Most are blocked/hidden.

Anyway lets not forget the meets are a product of the forum, not the other way around.

If we did everything to please a few sponsors (who really do **** all in the grand scheme of things, how many people go solely for the prizes and whatever else the sponsors provide?) then I don't reckon many people would hang around.

I wouldn't because this place would be exactly like the rest. May as well merge with AFF again and make Tony Martin the club president.

Nah no kids, but strong social life, 2 shift work stats jobs and all that shit. If it wasn't for the founding forefathers of this E-Series internet world, there would be no C4C. I attended like every cruise for 2 years, was around for about 5 years before you if you didn't know already!

Guilty conscience? (top song btw)

Wasn't having a personal dig at anyone, just from a few posts on the last page.
I think the cruises should go from a carpark, to a pub, to a maccas, to Pier 35. Realistically, cruises seem to be about the social factor these days, rather than the driving bit, which is tamer than a drive home from work for me.

But living on past accomplishments 'back in the good old days' does make you sound like a bitter old man.

i love the site the way it is, people on here seem to know what they are talking about so IMO copping a bit of shit is worth it if you get the answer you want, but when a thread is just people arguing is a bit offputting.

I love this forum just the way it is!

....but lol, I hate the newbies starting 30 new threads asking what springs they should use to get there sick wheels to tuck, Or how much to respray a couple of stone chips.

I dont agree with making the showroom/build/intro all one, but it needs to be tidied up. There his heaps of builds in the intro and showroom and vice versa.

The guilty conscience thing is a clear dig now, and you've dodged the question that I asked in the first place - who are you talking about?

History is taught in classrooms for a reason brah, wgaf what Bob Hawke ever did but we still learn about him in Year 7 because he's important. I'm the Bob Hawke of E-Series nigger.

If the cruises are becoming a social thing over a car enthusiast thing you need to step back and take a look at your shit.

Agreed on condensing subforums mentioned.

I miss catching up on cruises, but i'm not in a position to attend most events nowadays. Hopefully afd. Hats off to those who can regularly attend cruises.

Pete - no kids (yet), but plenty of livestock :p

My 2c - shitcanning is ok in small/moderate doses, where warranted. But on a scale from EFFalcon to NUT347, it'd be good to see less of regular suspects "contributing" in iffy threads. Such as WILD-i-take-the-bait-every-time-EB's thread. Dude; The Game. That is all.

In before the thread turns to shit.

I think its perfect the way it is apart from the few token e-Series die hards.
I was once a "n00b" copped alot of shit about anything(still do) but I'm still here because you learn.

You go to AFF you'll get arse kiss galore, if you want that go there.
If you want "real" people(so to speak) who will say what they are thinking then try and help you, you come here. Boosted is boosted because of the people on it, the mods give you plenty of warnings and then you get banned. There's serious threads and then threads involving iCer or WILDEB which generally turn to shit.

Just educate new members, make them read a short few pharagraphs on how the place is run and if they still **** that up its free game.

Inb4 fail comeback.

Joo beet meh to it brah.

Apart from some banners, stickers, number plate surrounds and clothes that people still have, are we keeping ESOC strictly as in the past now?

This is a question I'm genuinely interested in. I've still got my EA-EL Falcon Owners Club number plate surrounds at home, and I'm pleased my jacket has the Turboblade logo on the front, but I finally put the BoostedFalcon stickers on my car at C4C, and I personally agree that BoostedFalcon.net is the way forward.
Looking at older car clubs though, it's funny to picture E-Series enthusiastics in 30 years displaying their cars talking about how they remember when their vintage cars were brand new.
I want to be one.

Just educate new members, make them read a short few pharagraphs on how the place is run and if they still **** that up its free game.

This.

I did sign up to www.ausphotography.net.au recently, and it was a bit trippy. Go sign up, it's all automated stuff, but jeebuz, it's like signing up here and getting every workshop manual thrown at you, then telling you that you can only look at the forums once you've proven you are willing to learn the secret of The Force.

Regarding increased moderation - Is there truly a middle ground though? Every forum I'm on that has sponsors is over-moderated IMO. If it's a choice between the current format, or add sponsors and heavily moderate (which is what generally occurs), then I'd say leave it exactly as is!

why not make a sub forum for E-Series Owners Club...

im only young but six years ago when i first heard/joined all i ever wanted was a turbo ef!! now ive had a few and moved on, still a boosted falcon but with nitrous and 408 cubes now. but all the members i met at the first qld cruise i ever went on are still hanging around (apart from lukey039) so i think a dedicated eseries part wouldnt be a bad idea seeing as how thats how most of us started the journey lol

I don't know why anyones hanging it on Pete & Beth, both have been the most important people around lately with regards to keeping things rockin,
If its not me organising an event, its Pete and Beth, and i've only done a few, so its primarily them.

their concerns are fairly valid, its not ideal if potential event sponsors see some of the crap that comes up, but typically they don't last forever.
the WILDEB thread is gone, it was funny for a day or 2, now its gone.

some people like events, myself included.

I've had others suggest a more eseries specific area, if theres enough interest for it then it would deffinately be on the table.
ESOC is a major part of our history, and whilst we don't operate under that for events etc, we keep the name alive in some of the merchandise.

somehow, people still figure out that if you have an eseries, you goto Boosted.
so we must be doing something right.

and whist the site is called Boosted Falcon, we can't deny our history, and its pretty easy to tell by our best quality builds, what the main interest is.

clean up fs with posts made in states so you dont have to click on every single one to find out its on the other side of the country especially when people dislike posting their location on the thread, or make it mandatory in the title or thread deleted???

Boosted falcon iPhone and android apps. More or less a link to the site but with the logo. ;).

Definitely merge introductions/showroom/builds as one and leave elites. Most of the showroom threads belong in builds and vice versa anyway. Also noticed alot of people tend to just update their introduction post rather then a new thread in a new section.

I feel the For Sale template on AFF works pretty well if something similar is an option?

Otherwise i'm pretty happy here lurking about and having a laugh. It's a relaxed place to visit and doesn't need alot of tweeking.
I might only attend one event a year but have a good time catching up. I don't have a 'cruise worthy' Falcon now but will again one day and hopefully attend more stuff. Life changes and ya kinda move on a bit I guess.

I mostly agree with merging the showroom/build intro threads, but IMO EFFalcon had the best idea with watching the intro threads a bit more. An intro forum is always a good way to get people to, well, introduce themselves.

Out of curiosity, is it easy for the mods to tell who the newest member is with over, say, 500 posts? To get a bit of an idea on if we are attracting new quality members.

somehow, people still figure out that if you have an eseries, you goto Boosted.

I've always been intrigued by this. The only URL for here is now the boosted one yeah? I just tried a couple and they link to the usual crap advertising sites now.

the aff template works good i think (a few small tweaks mabey)

i cant see the point in a dedicated eseries section.

lets face it. whats going to be in there?
its not like your ever going to have an eseries only cruise (half of the old school eseries guys dont even own one anymore)
and all the eseries info is everywhere else in the forum anyway (and really is 99% anyway)

but if the demand is there. i guess it doesnt hurt to try it. but i think it will just end up another cyber skip bin.

Site needs more skids/skid pics :D

I rekon the moderating is done pretty well, after all you can't please everyone! I would hate to see it go the way of AFF.

Every couple of years I get a notice to renew the URLs. It costs SFA so I plan to hang onto them.

I've got no real comments regarding anything else even though there have been some good suggestions - let nature take its course I say. A lot of the same issues have been around for 10 years and there's no pleasing everybody. It is what it is.

Cheers.

Being a more recent member myself all i can say is the forum itself is fine, it could use a few more tutorials, but with simple questions asked or the search function used they're solved pretty much instantly anyway. I do like the idea of merging the Showroom & In the Build aswell. They're pretty much based on the same modifications/topics now anyway.

If moving forward in the terms of member population is what you want, the answer is simple, talk to the new members. When I started attending mini-meets & cruises there wern't many people if any who came up to speak to me directly, probably because my first ED was a heap of shit, who knows. However I have noticed lately that the newer generation of members, have started conversations with first-timers and it seems if someone is approached and a decent conversation is held, they'll keep attending and become more involved.

At the end of the day, we all found this site to be around other car enthusiasts.

In terms of cruises, Lately because I've moved up to the country I've only been on the C4C, which wasn't much of a cruise, but more based on a display or family fun day, which was well put togeather and serves it's own purpose but defeats the idea of cruising, I understand the reasoning may've been because of inability to find &/or allowance for suitable carpark's/meets, but If somehow you could mix lastyears cruising with this years displays It would make for an awesome C4C.

I know it has been brought up in the past and shot down because of costs, but the oppourtunity to get a skidpan for the day would be awesome, could it be possible to team up with other car clubs to cover the costs ? maybe even streetcommodores and have a falcon vs commodore(single pegger) burnout comp.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my novel/2c.
