Don't know if that pics works coz they're blocked at work.

I can see the XR projectors being a popular upgrade over Series I.

The XR6 will also come in under $40,000, priced at $39,990 - a $3000 drop. The XR6 picks up $2650 in new features, including an eight-inch touchscreen multimedia system with USB connectivity.

It also picks up a reverse-sensing system and projector headlights.

The G6E and G6E Turbo ($46,835, $56,235) also get the eight-inch screen, along with satellite navigation and an alarm. Externally, there are LED position lamps and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Both get side curtain-airbags, plus, like the XR6, a reverse-sensing system and projector headlights.

"FG Falcon MkII represents the most advanced, most comprehensively equipped and best value large car Ford Australia has ever produced," Ford Australia President and CEO Bob Graziano said.

"With fresh exterior styling, a host of new features and the latest smart technologies boosting Falcon's already extensive equipment levels, together with a customer-focused new pricing strategy, it delivers outstanding value for large car buyers and builds on the rich heritage of the Falcon brand."

The Falcon Ute range also benefits from a higher standard specification and reduced pricing.

On entry-level workhorse models, Ford says it has added around $4,500 worth of extra value, while sports XR6 Styleside Box variants gain over $6,000 of extra value.

you'd think the XR6 will become the highest seller with only $2k difference between XT and XR6
alot of what has been mentioned has been standard features on quite a few cheaper cars, so nothing to write home about, they are also features being introduced as standard across alot of fords other models, but guess its not a bad thing.

will be interesting whats done mechanically and style wise though - the pics didn't work

It's got a bit of a Territory/Focus style front bar, Territory dash, and not much else.
The headlights look to be a slightly different shape, but it's hard to tell at this stage.
Nothing exciting mechanically.
The XR6 has basically replaced the Futura.

Pics and info been going around for over a month! It looks good IMO. There was a lot of bashing on AFF about things, and also about EcoLPI. I think people are forgetting we are Ford fans, and these are Ford Falcon related forums - we need to support the work that Ford are putting in to these cars even with the decreased sales and all that shieett..

Shits me when I talk to die-hard Ford/Holden fans, some of who give me shit about driving a Ford, who don't even own either! If you aren't genuinely interested in putting time and/or money into the brand you support, then you aren't supporting shit and might as well start reverse eating.

Same kinda goes for V8 Supercar/Bathurst race supporters, even though I know the old "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" doesn't really apply anymore, which is partially why I'd like to see GT Production races alongside V8 Supercars.

The only reason I don't have a new Falcon in the driveway yet is it would be financially irresponsible right now. But I'm certain there'll be one parked in front of the EL before they get killed off or are just a rebadged Taurus.

Agreed, but when you actually walk into a dealership, it's pretty damn obvious why they're suffering. Of the few people I know who have recently bought new Ford products, none are happy with the after-sales support/service or with how difficult it seems to be to have warranty issues rectified.

I bought a second hand FG G6ET and got looked after no-end by Ford with warranty stuff. Couldn't have been happier. I made a list of 10 things and they fixed 9, the 10th issue disappeared at the dealer and never came back anyways. This included replacement globes and machining the front disks, which they did for FREE! Also, there was a leak from the balancer seal which they fixed, and on top of that they re-mounted and taped looms around the leak and gave the engine bay a good wash. How's that for service, and people still moan.

We have a WM Caprice that we bought brand new in October 2010, and if you want to talk about poor after-sales support I can go on for days about that. We STILL don't have a working glove box lock and key, they replaced the front parker globes in a service at a cost of $68 and accused us of having put non-genuines in there when they had never been touched. THAT is poor service. Dicks.

Those wm caprice park light globes are SHIT. They're supposed to be a white bulb (to match the HIDs) but they're just regular bulbs dipped in blue wax. Which obviously melts off and looks like you've put aftermarket shit bulbs in there.

Back on topic. I'm liking the update but will reserve judgement till I see one. Wondering if HID will make an appearance now they've got projectors in majority of models

Wait until you see how easy it is to change WM parker globes, a few seconds each. Not that I disagree about the after-sales horror stories, it truly sucks.

And I want to see new pics of the mk II. Sounds like a worthwhile update.

Eh i think after purchase or servicing support really depends on what dealer you go to and not holden or ford in general... the ford dealership next to me are a pack of cockheads never get the right part always have a poor attitude and generally everything is double the price then anything ive bought for the vz. The holden dealership has been great to me but now theres some bald headed kunt in there who is rude as and not helpful with anything. And its the same with warranty my old man bought his old fairlane from president ford they always were great and fixed everything quickly. The holden dont get me started i basically had to beg for a new coin tray lid and then waited a month for it.

I know someone who is passionate ford (girl) went to buy a focus the people at the dealership laughed her off didnt take her seriously so she farked off and bought an i30... pretty piss poor effort at selling cars.

Itd be great if all dealerships were as good with service as the next maybe they need some of those customer satisfaction sheets were people can abuse them.

In saying that i dont like the front of those... but until i see one in person always reserve judgement.

From what is in all the papers magazines news sounds like fords and holdens as we know them are both farked in the next few yrs regardless of what happens with these models.

Agreed about seeing it in the flesh. None of the pics of the FG did it justice before it came out.

It sux that the media hold enough power to make or break a model.

Not a big one, but you can compare the XR to the G6

Very tasteful in my opinion, but I am looking forward to more 'real world' pics, not to mention seeing them on the road.
