Today I crossed a couple of things off the roadworthy list.

Both the front brake rotors were undersize.

Out with the old...

In with the new...

I also replaced the faded globe in the drivers side front indicator and got new wiper blade inserts.

Things that are left on the list are LHF lower ball joint, front windscreen, rear muffler and the rust.

Oh and one question, are the front indicators for these NLA? Or could I walk into Ford spare parts, bend over then order one? The one on the passenger side is a bit cracked and full of condensation.

Last time I enquired you could still get them but need to sit down when they tell you how much.. Was about 6 months ago though

One (small) step closer to getting this on the road.

Another of the items on the extensive RW list was the LHF indicator lense as seen below.

Yep it's old, cracked and all fogged up. Since I brought the car home I have been on the lookout for a suitable second hand replacement and haven't had any luck.

I finally bit the bullet and priced up a new one from Ford. It was $150, which I didn't think was too bad. I was actually preparing myself to pay a fair bit more.

A little while later and it was all done :D

Great that you can still get them. Must have been close to 10 years ago that I paid roughly $100 each for indicators.

Good work Ash!

Haven't had a chance to touch it for a couple of weeks mate :(

I've got work and family xmas parties every weekend from now until xmas so it probably won't be on the road until January.

That rust doesn't look too bad. Chop it out with an angle grinder, make up a steel square the same size and get someone to weld it back in. Get a punch and hammer and go tapping along the rest of the sill and see if you can get it to penetrate the sill. Doubt you will be able to tho.

When you've got the sill open try and spray as much killrust & fish oil as possible down there to stop anything else thats lurking. Probably worth pulling the door trims off and doing the same in there too.
