Hello to all, would really appreciate some advice!

Hey everyone I am a newby here. I tryed for ages to get photo's up but me not being too tech savvy, well the results speak for itself. Anyhow on to business. I recently purchased a 1994 ED Falcon GLi, I have fallen in love with it and am looking into doing it up as a daily driver but a head turner!. I have been told by a bloke at Ford that it has the Tickford engine, Tickford auto gearbox, Tickford diff just thought I'd add that for future reference. Anyhow I have no idea where to start, I am aiming to eventually turbo it, but she's steady sailing at the moment, a slow build.

I know the easy things, I have organised to have a 2.5in straight through system, with extractors and a high flow cat fitted but i have no idea where to go after this? I have been told to go injectors, but would really like to hear what people who KNOW their Fords have to say. Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for welcoming me into the Boosted Falcon Community.

Have a good one! :drinks2:

Where are you trying to go to get photos? If you haven't, try Photobucket, or if you don't feel like signing up, then Imageshack or Tinypic should do the job easy.

I wouldn't do the injectors straight away if not at all, there are other things you can upgrade from that will easily be beneficial. Few examples are bigger cam, lowering the car, doing diff gears, CAI, new rims, etc.

That is my opinion though.

Welcome btw!

well for starters there was no such thing as a Tickford auto. And the Tickford diff would just be a 3.45 LSD. And does the front of the head have a T cast into it? and does it have the Tickford rocker cover?

Not true Brenton, I have a mate that worked at BTR and built the autos and manuals, the internals of an auto from an XR or any Tickford enhanced Ford have different bits in them (solenoids etc), to make them a bit stronger.

Nice car to start with mate. If you want to check the engine is Tickford, look at the head and there will be a 'T' cast into the front of it. They have bigger valves and different cam to start with. I would go for CAI & cam to start with, maybe valve springs depending on cam, although for appearance clear front indicators & AU clear side repeaters look the goods along with lowering and a nice choice of rims too.

Good luck mate, and there is a thread on how to upload pics if you get stuck.

And by the way, a mate had an NF NL Fairlane with a Tickford engine, so i would assume it was Tickford enhanced
