coloour is breeze i think, its way greener than it looks in pics, its a damn hard colour to get a pic of.

the pic looking through the passenger door is the closest colour wise.

initial plans are just the simple ones, tint, exhaust and lower it. then later on down the track an asl/premo sound icc, leather etc.

Jesus Christ man, you just drive this thing around in second gear everywhere or what!?! Even my old and busted heap gets better economy round town than that! Nice Hertz rental anyway. :P

Sweet upgrade from the AU, shame that it didn't like swimming and drowned though. I very much like the colour, very nice pick up :)

Nah its just me enjoying something with a bit of grunt. I'm sure if I drove normal it would improve markedly.
But there's no fun in that.

Hopefully my shit sells on egay today, that will pay for the tints and lowering.

Even with the ZF? They are a ZF right? That's a bunch of shite, no wonder they axed them! Maybe look at getting a CAI and a tune instead of ruining the ride.

Pretty goods pics out of the sgs2! My sgn can't get anywhere close to that.

For an exhaust on the cheap, look out for a secondhand BA-BF sedan twin 2.5" aftermarket system. They do fit FG's with minor mods at the front section and changing the brackets.

almost gonna get 400kms from this tank, so its improving. someone mentioned on another forum that as the zf learns my driving style it may improve slightly as well. beats me.

pics in this thread were taken with my fuji finepix p.o.s lol, i think my sgs pics are on facebook. the fuji semi behaved for these pics, but jeez it has worse mood swings than a woman.

in no real rush now to mod it, enjoying the stockness of it all. the tints are the only thing that i want done asap.

having said that, i might need a price for some springs justin lol

o

and ev, lowering it doesnt have to ruin the ride, my old ef ghia rode surprisingly well considering how low it was. the 19s were the worst thing to contribute to the harshness. on the ftrs it was good as.

oh, and new plates arrived (pic taken with sgs2)

Plates are awesome. I can get about 450kms around town with my boss 260 and zf. Have to take it easy to get that though.

You're right about lowering not wrecking the ride. I just put ultras in the rear, supers in the front (kings) aswell as 20's and I thought the smooth ride would be all over... To my surprise it is honestly hardly any different.

yeah yours is looking mint on the new rims.

i think the trip computer is telling me ive done 360kms on the current tank, and the range is 80, it just started beeping at me, thats with a week of mostly sedate (ie normal) driving, other than one arvo where i was running late to work, and had to get up it a bit.

i can live with economy like that, hell i can always use my bike for a few days a week once its fixed.

Re: FG XR8

what a mission yesterday was... left brisbane at 5am heading to gladstone to pick up a series 2 au xr8, pissing down all the way up there.

heading through gympie we noticed the rivers were quite high, and jokingly said 'hey, imagine if we cant get home'... prophetic almost lol :banghead:

just north of childers coming home one of the temp' electronic signs flashed up 'bruce highway closed, south of gympie' farrrrk...

figured we would carry on and see what the go was anyway. got to gympie and the road was cut right on the outskirts of town, double fark.
tried a small detour(well, 30 odd kays) and this was the result.
Image
so we headed back to gympie, figured we would scope any other alternate routes, get a feed, and relax. wrong.

gympie just shut down, maccas/kfc etc all shut their doors, noone was getting anything except for at the servos.
then one of the truckies we were talking to said it was gonna be closed for three days minimum. faaaaaaaark! we both had to get back into brissy, no ifs or buts about it.

so we found an alternate route inland, which meant a 500km detour. and unknown if the whole route was still clear, was pretty stressful.
fg seemed to have a range of 5-600 on the open road, so depending on roads it was gonna be tight.

heading back to childers found a 24 hr servo so topped it up again, turned out to be just as well, everything in childers was closed when we got there.
fg was looking a bit travel weary at this point.
Image
route ended up being clear, bugger all traffic, and that made for good progress. i lasted until blackbutt, and had to swap drivers, i was shagged. had a sleep for an hour or so, and jumped back behind the wheel at wivenhoe, and smashed it back into brisbane.

so 24 hours, and 1614 kays later, we made it home.
Image

worst thing was, the au stayed with the seller, he wouldnt budge on price, and my mate quite rightly wouldnt pay more. so massive trip for nothing lol.

not much of an update but took the big girl out to willowbank tonight, did a best of 13.8 at 103mph. not bad, i was hoping for a low 14 lol.

last two runs were crap, reaction times blew out, and i had no grip what so ever, times blew out to a 14.5 and a 14.7

heaps of falcon turbos out there, easily out numbered anything else except maybe old commo's, was quite a few of those.

wanna try and track down who the pro-photographers are out there, hoping they got a decent pic of my fg.

this was some random parking, i parked beside the f6, and when i came back it was like ford parking only lol

only saw one e series out there, dunno if its anyone from here?

took it out again tonight, got my time down to 13.6, so stoked with that. if i could get some grip i reckon theres a low 13 in it, it either wheelspins heaps, or i have to just drive it off the line... slow either way.

saw this out there, i think im in love...

13.6 is a great time for these! Let those pressures down a tad might help.

I love the color too.
