Jakeeysed. yeah getting lost wasnt to bad saw all new areas, but we spent the whole night in 2wd high just about didn't come across anything decent. Turned out it was a waste of time to of aired down the tires lol.

Kaddis. Nice gq, keen to hear how it goes with the turbo rb30. Been thinking about doing it to mine. If my motor blows it's the only replacement I will consider. And that rolled gq is why I'm trying to get money aside for a full cage

Yeh was in Walhalla, we helped him get it back on its wheels. His old man nearly copped a car crushing him trying to pull it over while it was getting winched. Just passed that a Luxy rolled on the next hill past the river.

Feel for him tho, he got up the hill and his mate couldn't so he tried rolling down a hill backwards and rolled it...his mate forgot to lock in...

Yeh he was shattered as he had just bought it and spend some cash on it. He ended up selling it for $2000 without the tyres. The other bloke you talk about is my mate aswell his GQ is a weapon now

It was fairly fucked out. All body mounts were stuffed. The engine had no comp left.

None of my mates would drive up what I wanted to because they bought GU's and didn't want to damage them. Easy tracks are boring so I got rid of it and bought a ute.

Pheasants is a lot harder now than it used to be. I was in struggle town getting up there on my dirt bike a few months ago.

Yeah it's got the works. Front and rear arb air lockers. Motor driven air compressor. The tube around the tray is his air tank. Warn winch. 35's. The longest rancho shocks you can buy and uses every bit of their travel. Twin transfer cases. On board water system with a pump so he can spray his windows clean. The water and air both have connections on each side of the car. He made all the tray bullbar sliders. Everything himself. It's even got a top mount 450x350x76mm cooler. Made all the cooler piping himself to. Turbo diesel.

Yeah, uses every single bit of the longest rancho 9000's that he could buy. Gotta love leaves for that, don't need a stupidly high lift to get a shit load of travel, just a good setup.

So I bought this today:

Got it for cheap cheap cos its got a blown head/headgasket. Got it home and head off in 2 hours lol.
These wheels should have been burned a long time ago, but I've got some 33s from the range rover to go on, once I find some rims.

Looking forward to some good 4x4 times!

Ended up wrecking it out then bought another GQ, an RB30 Wagon "Rex Hunt Special Edition"...

Pretty much stock except 33's, Dual battery setup from the ute and spotties. Currently fitting a VL turbo setup to it and a 3in exhaust, will eventually get a few inch's lift in it.

And a few of the boys out for a weekend up Big River.

Poor young bloke we came across one afternoon.

Bit of an update on the GQ. It's now got a 3 inch lift, dual optima's fitted, 9000lb winch, and the new engine arrived the other day which should hopefully go in soon!

Aw, no fun :( or you could go rb30 a8 bottom end to get the oil squirters and fit a spool 3.4 stroked :)

On a more serious note, how's the rb30 compared to a td42 turbo?

IIRC no RB30's came out with oil squirters.

RB30 loves revs and goes pretty good in the bush but once you start climbing hills the TD42 shits over it. At least this RB30 is injected, carby RB30's are fairly shit.

For some reason I thought the factory turbo motors did? Been a while since I've looked at anything rb related though.

I've got the rd28 and have considered both rb30et or td42t for when the rd28t dies.
