LUXO-8 my post got deleted but i made a short copy before russel went to town on the thread:

sven wrote:
MotherNature wrote:The $20 is an annual fee that will cover many things not just cruises.

What else is included with the $20. I would like to know where my money was going if i was to pay it. And if the club isnt part of CAMS Affiliated yet why are you asking for money now?? Why not when it actually happens??

How do you expect to get new members, or people that have been on AFF for a while, to pay $20 to attend cruises when they dont know what OzECruisers cruises will be like??

Also clubs such as boostedfalcon . n e t have FREE membership and FREE cruises. Along with having ALL of the knowledge from the old E-Series club that was here on AFF.

The E-Series section of AFF isnt growing anywhere near the rate of BoostedFalcon and it will stay that way if people here dont wise up.

Now i know you'll probably delete some or all of this for talking up BoostedFalcon but i'm just giving my opinion. Their technical knowledge, cruises, mini-meets and the web site in general are just superior to OEC.

$20 is nothing. Cheaper than removing a yellow sticker.

didnt think people on AFF liked people talking about getting little yellow stickers on your car...

It's like zomfgz a car modified to a standard that renders it ineligible for a RWC is way bad. But oh, um I have 4 kids who I haven't payed any maintenance for and like didn't buy them Xmas presents. That's FULLY ok.

I wonder if any of those fools realize how much $$$ they have thrown away by fcuking with the E-series section.

900ish people look at this site? Young people with disposable income, a demographic that most businesses go to a lot of trouble to attract. The E-series section used to be a very busy part of AFF, if even 10% of those looked at the sponsors products and were converted into sales it would be worthwhile.

But no, out of pure arrogance they fcuked themselves. Retards.

Very true John... and since we're sponsorship free, we can allow people like snort performance (a major player in our markets) to keep us updated without the fear of another sponsor being pissed off.

That's the best thing about it, this gives us the upper hand. If we were sponsored, we'd haveto follow their rules on what foreign products we could promote on this site and which we can't. Without a sponsor, their gunna haveto compete with each other to promote their product. Also, alot more accurate information about various products will be put forward and discussed, as it will not be censored by what the sponsor allows us to say.

No sponsor FTW!!!

can i ask why you cant bump threads?? it was good the way it was, i'm sure you have your reasons though.

Mainly because all we saw was bumps to threads that contained no context, I would hate to see how many single posts have only the word bump in the database.

Again, financially we don't make a cent from it

SLY347, change your picture links in photobucket/etc ;) That'll mess up your build thread. Sure, all the text info will still be in place, but all your photos will be blown away ;)

Instant ban from AFF = replacing named links with porn or boostedfalcon pics :D I simply broke all my links.

Nice. Closed again.

I'm sure a few AFF'ers/oEc'ers are reading this, and for everyone elses information, a 'car club' isn't a car club until it has CAMS affiliation. Until then, they are a social club with a focus on cars, no matter how much crap anyone tries to spin, how many constitutions are written, and even if they have an ABN, and every other government piece of paperwork. Still not a car club without CAMS.

How many times did people on E-Series/AFF say they are chasing CAMS affiliation for the club, then dissappear a month later? IIRC it was looked into properly by senior club members, and it basically worked out that to do it on a national level is impossible, due to the numbers required to attend monthly meetings, and the AGM.

I'll believe oEc will have CAMS affiliation when I check on http://www.cams.com.au and see oEc listed as a club on there.

It seems EA2BA doesn't like 'oEc' as a shortened name either.. ;)

Forums dedicated to performance, not dyed roof linings, hornet scoops and paying money for elite-ism FTW :P

I'm on my 5th E-Series and enjoy the variety of all 4 major E-Series forums and actively post on all of them.

I honestly believe it would be boring if we ended up with just the one forum as each seems to have a slightly different focus and information.

Each to their own i guess :)

Haha i just had a look back at AFF.

The 'Events' section is now viewable only if you are a PAYING member. So if you dont give them money, you can't see when the cruises or events are on.

Mother Nature - "There are currently a few changes happening to this area of the forums in line with what the focus group has suggested as a club. The election of the innaugral committee will, no doubt, bring more changes as the club grows further. Should you wish to view these areas it is as simple as joining up with the club."

It seems their going through a whole lot of redtape, only to find themselves at the end with a realtively small amount of members. Lets face it e-series are cheap and getting old, the majority of people who buy them are under 25, will mod them, thrash them, then upgrade when they get enough $$$. I cant see many of these people paying yearly fees, attending annual general meetings and altering constitutions just so they can have a meet at bunnings carpark every few months...

Farken sick of seeing MN's posts there. They are either -

"Moved to technical" or "As a result of discussion with the focus group"...

Broken records FTL.

EA2BA begged to have his membership here re-instated saying that he could be a useful member. We re-instated, he posted for like 1 day and I haven't seen anything from him since. Thinking of banning him.

Do you want to show yourself here Jase?

I <3 EA2BA

He can't see/can't potentially leak Good Stuff info to AFF anyway so it's not like he's a threat/potential mole. I don't see him doing that anyway. It's a pity he's in OzECruisers though.

He knows a fair bit of electronic info that'd be quite handy here & has been very helpful in the past to a few members on here, including myself.

Yeah I'd agree there, he is a wealth of knowledge. If we ban kents just for being paying oEc members, doesn't that make us just as lame as AFF censoring boostedfalcon.net and banning senior boosted members, just for being senior boosted members?

AFAIK, anyone can read most of the forums, the good stuff they need approval though right?
