if it gets put through as a repairable write off it could be quite an easy repair, unless theres damage underneath.

new guard, new headlight, new door, new tray (or custom flat deck) looks like only visible beating would be the gouge in the b pillar?

It'd be a good auction buy for the right price.
But bargains at auctions are few and far between nowadays.

Fark man!

I know all too well how much of a pain this kinda thing is.

Im with you on the write off status though, I didnt want my EF repaired, knowing what happened to it.

Just use it to step up or get in front a bit cash wise :)

Eh i guess so its alot of work there was a slight kink on the floor where the door closes i think from what i saw... to be honest its a stock standard ute with no options and a few kms on it not really worth the effort fixing... imo much easier to just buy another one.

Danny agree with bargains at auctions been very few and far between... but really anything at the right price is a good buy.. i honestly wouldnt buy it after that much damage to repair... and to wreck out well theres really only the engine everything else is very basic as it had no options and wouldnt pull much money.

haha yea its ok but i dont think the jacked up look would ever satisfy me. Pete you and Wilson take the award for liking and spotting the ugliest cars on the road and saying they are awesome!

http://www.carsales.com.au/private/deta ... 0ss|CarAll

This is real tempting actually... been thinking really want a bf xr6t ute with the 6 speed auto but all the ones for sale are just way too exxy like 17k.... i havent spent more then 10 on a daily for a few years now so not sure if i want a 17k ute. Still need my cheque ofcourse

Well yes it got confirmed as a write off i finally got my payout today.. and just like that its at pickles!!!

http://www.pickles.com.au/damaged/item/ ... /252323377

Might go have a look at it one last time. So the search begins for a replacement ute. Looking to spend under 14.. saw a few fg basic utes on dedicated gas at the auctions today for around 14k very very tempting... just not sure if ill get bored too quickly with one of those

Yea going to pickles tomorrow to look at a complete one see what they go for at auctions... just for some reason except for like 2 on carsales all the others seem over priced to me and 14k for an fg with 60,000kms its basically a new car... so i will think about it but yea i think back to a ba turbo most likely

What an epic fail! i go to pickles in the morning with the intention of seeing a complete xr6t ute to bid for maybe turns out complete cars arent at tulla anymore yea my bad.. so thought ill watch this mangled mess go up see what it goes for it was one of the last cars cbf waiting go home come back still hundreds of cars away go home try log on to the bid live fail didnt log on auction over!

If anyone actually went auctions im keen to know what either utes went for...

Yea well your telling me the car wasnt great i mean most of the kit was damaged and the interior is the pov pack and wasnt in great condition but the driveline was solid like new auto and diff was great motor still good so woulda been a great indication of what a driveline could be bought for!!

Felt like forever to get the pay out i guess about 3.5 weeks and my claim was smooth no questions asked no quotes for repairs.. apparently they are just that backed up with claims they cant keep up... i always had to ring them they never rang me to tell me where it was up to.

I found a decent price ba xr8 ute up the road from me... its a bit high in the kms like my last ute... i know **** all about ford boss v8s other then they are slow! apparently it has a slight miss at idle any common issues with these engines do they last a while km wise??

I dont really want a v8 one but im not seeing any great xr6t coming up atm so just looking at all possibilities.

Pfft, from the reports I've heard, an NA XR6 would drop a better patch than an early Boss anyway! On the other hand, you would then have the option for a Kenne Bell!

Yeah it was just a quick search Max - it was a an AU II Pursuit as well...there would be a better deal out there if you looked.

JTG LPG is not a bad thing - take a closer look at it - same power / economy as petrol...just the exy outlay that turns people off...can get LPG rebate which is still ~$1K or so I think.

Injected lpg is a great investment. But it'll take 3ish years @ a tank a week approx to start paying itself off and start saving you real dosh.

Yea Steve AU XR8 is in my search criteria i do look at them if there is a mad deal i might be swung across just hard to go backwards from a ba takes me back to like the old days when dad had an au that seems like a life time away haha.

No matter what anyone says im quite one eyed with gas i dont want it. i know theres some decent lpg systems liquid injection and what not but converting a car then keeping it over 3 years is very unlikely for me. Whatever i get ill prob only have it a year or so, in the next year or 2 i wanna get behind the wheel of a fg xr6t ute.

I have looked at straight gas fg xl utes from factory i think thats a bit better then converting yourself or dual fuel etc, they have cheaper rego too so something to think about 14k gets you one from auction, if i was going gas id get that.
