Street Machine magazine and E-Series

Postby AaronEF8 » May 19th, 2012, 3:43 pm

So I've noticed more and more E-Series, and all late model Falcons in general, appearing in Street Machine lately, has to be a good thing. Don't think many people here read car magazines though?

Anyway, the June issue (FAT GT on the cover) has a feature on the WA Gazzanats, and there's an EL owned by Michael Thorn who won best engine bay with an 8tb manifold, but still using the original ancillary mounts. Does anyone know anything else about this car? It looks like it has a hydraulic clutch too.

Also of interest is a bright orange EL Fairmont with 'GHIA D UP' plates owned by Terry Nankivelli that won best 6cyl burnout. Any details?

The JZX100 Chaser with the LS1 is pretty cool, and there's another mention of the PerformanceForums 13s for 1300 EL.
But yeah, does anyone know of those 2 cars?

Maybe it was bought as a rolling shell or maybe the motor went bang.... I reckon a JZX100 LS1 would go well, provided it had some form of forced induction

The guy doesn't say much about why, except the 1J didn't have enough torque and it has better weight distribution now. He used to have a turbo LS1 S13 so he probably had spare parts laying around too.
Better then an LS1 Commodore at least.

Yeah LS1s (well, the current ones, the early ones were SHITHOUSE) are good in anything that's not a commodore :D

Haha. I like it. Do you know if the roof would fit without custom glass?

I also see Simmons are advertising FR22s now too.

What EL? The one in WA I mentioned with the mint engine bay?
If so, it hasn't been featured, just had one pic in a story.

Most magazines won't feature cars that have already been in Street Machine. I know Performance Ford used to have contracts guaranteeing cars the cover if they keep it exclusive.

IF you use the comlete roof section, and modify the componants of the doors, yes.
