Yeah you can but then you need to source a master cylinder and pedal from somewhere anyway.

Id much rather hydraulic even knowing there is more parts that can give you grief.
Considering e series firewalls hate life with standard clutch and how many other issues they have ( clutch forks, cables, the cable holder thing at the fork and so on)
Hydraulic give a much nicer pedal feel also.
But then you are saving on csc, pedal setup and master cyl and so on I guess.

Oh I'd also keep it manual you already have a nice auto in you're xw (which a thread would be great Haha)
Cheers josh.

Cable or hydraulic clutch wouldn't bother me, just keen for something that will hold up with some abuse without costing the price of the car.
Apparently Dellow do a belhousing to suit GM T56 to ea-au Windsor.
Bad idea?

I can upload the photo of my bellhousing, with the piece that cracked off when I bolted it up to the block on the ground...was mighty pissed off when it happened, then I had to pay postage to send it back to be checked out and to get it back afterwards, along with having the throw out fork pivot needing to be machined down so I could get my clutch fork actually in the bellhousing behind the clutch.

I always thought Dellow were good? After speaking to Paul at Malwood he seems pretty clicked on about E series and Tremecs so I'd be stupid to go anywhere else.

Car got dropped off today to Craig Helps Metalworks to get the turbo slapped on as my mechanic is flat out and we are running out of time to make the 29th street meet. Haven't used him yet but seems like a top bloke and does killer work.

Mal wood are great to deal with though so just email them.

AU V8's are expensive to convert to 6 speeds... They require a fair bit of work to get the shifter in the correct spot, and then get a speedo output as well. Once its done, they are pretty good...

Yeah I put some standard height 6 cyl springs in the front on Monday hoping they'd sit a bit better then how it is haha. Front was way to low before, it was shit to drive and the cooler just about hit everything. Might have to cut a coil

I don't want to sound like an arse man, but why the 42?

With a T5 and stock block it's a bit of a waste, a 35R or a T04Z would be plenty for the setup, and more drivable.

I love the car no doubt anyway!

Nah very good point mate.

The 35 and TO4z was my turbo of choice but for the price I couldn't beat a plain bearing 42.
T5 will be upgraded next and I've already been thinking about a Dart block aswell haha.

Goes on the dyno thurs-fri, just going to tune on pump fuel and see what 1x044 is good for.
No point going for broke just yet while the box is letting everything down.
Either TKO600 or T56 then the fuel system will be upgraded for E85.

young sir that looks like splendid!

GT42 has to be one of the sexiest turbos <3, kinda like a mullet, except on confined to the front nor back. its just business and party all over lol.

will be interesting to see how it goes with boost response of the 5l, you dont see too many people using large frame turbos on V8 falcons.
i agree with the point josh has raised, but you've got the bottom end and heads to make the most of it.
i think anything less than good alloys and the turbo would be much more of an issue.

anyway, you get my props for brass balls and i cant wait to see it baking some tyres. :good:

If you're going to run it like that you def need an auto with a line locker and massive stall. That look doesn't work with a manual I reckon, but wheels up off the line at the drags will suit it perfectly!

I'm hearing ya but this rig staying manual.
There should be more manual cars at the drags.

I really think with it being laggy like it is it may help with saving the T5 and stock block.

lol dunno how a vertical power/torque curve when it comes on boost will help 3rd gear mashing itself, but you can't argue that logic.

Mine popped leaning on the throttle in 3rd when it only had ~300rwhp I think. Wasn't even from the shock loading of a gear change.

Bipolar has blown 3rd up with a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder

They're a good box for low power applications but 3rd is made of glass.

How do our T5s differ from the mustang T5s?
Seen a few turbo stangs run sone decent power and good times with crusty T5 boxes.

The well known YouTube "scary turbo mustang" runs 570rwhp and 10 sec passes with one
