G'day all.
I have been on here for a fair while now just looking and posting, and i finally decided to chuck some pics of my laser.

Its a 2 door, KF, All wheel drive and turbo'd laser. A bit of info on it first.
Apparently there were only 250 or so of these made. 117kw at the engine from factory and 15.5 sec quarter mile time. When dad bought it, it was the fastest thing ford Australia was producing. The only mods done to it are the 15" ROH Adrenalines, and a 3inch straight thru pipe and also an aftermarket cruise control.
It needs a respray and a lil bit of panel beating, but other than a few tiny lil spots its tidy. The rims were dads choice. I say a set of 17's of some sort and also remove the nudge bar and spotties and a tidy up in the engine bay.

Excuse any bad pics as they were taken at night.

A lil look at the pipe. ill have to take one at day time.

You mean selling, right? Mazda Japan produced them.

Cool though. Lower it and lots of boost. Leave the spottys on and hang massive slides on bush tracks!

dont launch it too much, gearboxs are renowned for their ability to smash like they were made of glass...

awesome wee cars though, a few mates had these back home.

these have the 1600cc motor yeah? if that goes bang hunt down a 1840 cc for it, its amazing how hard they go compared to the 1600s

Pretty sure by KF they were BP not B6 (so 1.8)

Lowering should be a peice of cake, if it's anything like a KE suspension wise.

These things have SOOO much potential, I had one as my First car, could do low 14's/high13's all day, til I done the Transfer Case. A fella I knew at the time had one that done 12.5 1/4's. The Gearbox's aren't that bad, the earlier ones (behind the B6 1.6L's) were the ones notorious for being made of glass.

Time for some fixing and a little update.
The gear lever has some awesome slop in it, bushes on the selector cables are worn/ non existent and also the bushes in the lever itself are worn.
I work at ford so bring on the genuine bits.
The cables and bushes arrived and it turns out that the dash has to come out to fit them so I'll do that one weekend with a bit of help.
Next off the evaporator is leaking >.<. Not to expensive for a new one so I'm pleased with that. But I;m not getting anywhere near modding it in the slightest.
And to top it all off.... The laser now doses quietly for some unknown reason. I'm thinking exhaust leak up near the turbo? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Once the problems are fixed.. bring on Cold Air and a pod setup. I know there are for's and against's for pods but I just want nice induction noise. If anyone has any ideas or advice my ears are open.
Also what's the go with turbo silencer rings?

Far out! The aircon is in now and pod filter got put on. Makes an awesome sound :) Took the car for a trip to emerald on the weekend an thats when more problems started. The boost light comes on and a warning buzzer sounds. If i dont back off in time the car will shut itself down. Im guessing a boost spike or over boost. Apparently the buzzer sounds at 10psi and the car shuts down at 11-12. Going over to mates house on the weekend and well find whats wrong.

The cables for the gearbox are in. The biggest difference in the world. Back to as tight as it was brand new now. Even the boost problem is solved..
The gauge reads 12 - 13pis Max!!!! considering 7Psi is factory.

Car has been doing some unbelievable backfires lately. Mostly in the top end of the rev range, and the boost problem came back. Had it checked out today and the airflow meter was clogged up with some crap. Cleaned that out and made a world of difference. Car is running around 10psi it which is good. A few more tests and we found the fuel pump doesnt flow enough at the top end, hence backfiring an cutting out.

Walbro 350hp pump is on its way and will be going in soon. I also ordered a new BOV, old one was leaking. Turbosmart Kompact series. Nice an small and black, its plumback as well so no need for PTSSCHH.

Nudge bar and the mudflaps have been taken off. Then i decided to nudge a pole. Snapped a tie rod and had to get towed home at 10pm. Long story short. Car got a deserving respray, clear indicators and soon.. a new set of 17's and lowering.

keep up the good work, bigger turbo, microtech and a familia GTR gearbox and it'd be a weapon!

Went down to beach today, Miserable weather and not much to do... So pulled the car apart and fitted the coils.

So easy! Started on the rears at about 9 and had them sitting right by 11, only problem we had the whole time was snapping an adapter for a socket. Fronts were just as simple, had car sitting fine by 2 with a lunch break and cleaning up bird feathers.

I like what you're doing with this - and that it's white with black wheels :)

My only concern is that the wheel nuts are made of steel and not alloy? Over time the alloy and steel can react with each other and weld together, and then you have to snap all the studs to get the wheels off :/

I did but it's a bit ambiguous - I meant it to sound like my concern (hope) was that the nuts are made of steel, and that he hadn't fitted alloy ones.
