6Boost has some quality stuff also, they're the two main suppliers, i'd personally make my own kit up.

I have a 6Boost manifold, although very very sadly unused , is a top quality product, and he is very easy to deal with.

My first post! :)

Hell no, makes mint tuned length manifolds as well as log manifolds.

Alot of high end turbo drag cars run his manifolds because they're designed so well.

I saw two of 6Boost's drag cars run at Willowbank last night actually. One TE cortina with turbo crossflow and one toyota wagon type thing with a 1G-GTE in it, both in the 9's.
Very fast cars, that's for sure but they both sat at the line for about 45 seconds each waiting to spool before they could take off.

It will be interesting to see how Rollin's car comes on boost this time around with his new turbo. That should be able to say something about how effective the 6Boost manifold is on the 4L.

I have a huge $15000 shopping list sitting right in front of me and half of that will be spent with Snort Performance. So Snort is my preferred supplier, from what I have seen on other cars I can't go wrong.

6boost manifolds are probably the best manifold you can buy for an e-series apart from a custom job. I'm pretty sure Fritzz runs one and so does steveoperth (wa guys).. both of them are making very good power.

I think they are all good.

I thought you might have had more knowledge about them than I do which is why I asked.

Extreme turbo manifolds on calaisturbo.com does good work as well. Very similar manifolds to 6Boost. He welds his own stuff and is great to deal with. He got me a really good deal on a GT51R last year. I dont think he has a done an E series manifold yet but has done a few BA ones.

I dont think you can go wrong with any of the ones mentioned above. The fastest turbo 6 E series that I know of is running a log manifold so maybe we are all over analysing everything?

Ill likely go with Snort if I decide to turbo the EF. Snort manifold + GT42 ftw.

quote="BI6TIM"]I saw two of 6Boost's drag cars run at Willowbank last night actually. One TE cortina with turbo crossflow and one toyota wagon type thing with a 1G-GTE in it, both in the 9's.[/quote]

The wagon is kyles car (6boost). Do you remember actual times/mph for it? He told me he has gone 9.7 with 440rwhp, and got it tuned on wednesday, more boost = 550rwhp :P

His manifolds are pricey but are absolutely mint - I don't think anyone has done back-to back comparisons on a 4litre, but they did some tests on a fully built SR20 in an S15 at mercury motorsport a few years back - it made 410rwhp on 27.5psi with a some mercury motorsport stainless manfold (details of that manifold are unknown) then they swapped it for a 6boost manifold, made 441rwhp on 23.5psi - 30 more rwhp on 4psi less boost :D it also picked up 60rwhp at 4500rpm, so the whole curve was fatter too.

As others have said, he is very busy all the time, and in my recent personal experience has shocking communication skills :( not that it seems other turbo setup providers are much better in that respect.

Geoff from Snort is legend to deal with. :)

Same with Leigh from Extreme Turbo manifolds.

Kyle seemed to get shitty with me for asking him to supply a turbo to suit a twin entry snort manifold last year. I was super keen to buy a turbo but he kinda fobbed me off after I said I wasnt using his manifold anymore.

Ooh you mention GT42 Dan, I had decided on a GT3582R (which is a specific model of 3540) .82 rear .7 front... it sounds perfect for a 4L with between 400 and 500 rwhp in mind. I think that a GT42 would bigger than needed. Your thoughts?

EDIT: I just looked at the GT42 models again and they all have rear housings over 1.0, would spool too late on 4L motors for street applications I think.

A gt3582 doesnt mean .82 rear housing. Its what they call the 3540 these days.

I would use a 1.06 rear housing.

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobyga ... 4568_2.htm

The rear housing alone doesnt determine spool times.

A GT42 with a small .9 rear housing would not outspool a 3582 with a 1.06 rear.

That's the one I'm looking at Dan, but the .82 rear, I think 1.06 is too big for a street car.

Goziller might argue that point Dan...

I think you'll find that Kyle and Geoff aren't the best of mates - they both have problems with people mixing and matching their respective products - probably something to do with the fact that they are competitors....

It seems to me that victorians think Geoff from Snort is great to deal with while most of the QLDers that have dealt with him are left wanting.

I think this comes down to the fact that it's just basically him and a fabricator to do everything and it's becoming hard for Geoff to keep everyone happy. Obviously it's easier to get onto him if you're in Victoria.
This may soon change though!

Yeah I agree - they sell 'stuff' and if someone wants some 'stuff' from one person and some 'stuff' from another, neither should have a problem with that....I suppose they are both just so busy that they can be a little picky about what they make/sell and to who they sell it to.
