E-series.com.au = old hat?

Postby Troutman » March 13th, 2013, 6:33 pm

G'day all,

The age old eseries.com.au/e-series.com.au domains are soon to expire again. Are these still in use? I have no issue with keeping them going if anyone still uses old series.com.au stickers etc but obviously if it's all completely obsolete I might not bother.

Any thoughts?

If we do, I don't reckon you should have to fork out for 'em anymore Jack.

I've still got surrounds on my plates, but don't know if anyone actually pays any attention to them.

G'day all,

Thanks for the replies. Definitely sounds like we should keep it going.

Cost doesn't worry me, though depending on how much of a PITA it would be, I'm happy to let someone else take ownership. There's still a number of weeks before it expires so we'll sort ourselves out and renew it either way before then.

Then it's settled.

Cost is only $45 each for 2 years ($90 total).

Jack - Happy to transfer ownership, i think we'd looked at doing it before but they normally restrict you when its almost due for renewal.

I have an eseries sticker ready to be put on

Could always have a donation system of a dollar and that would easily cover the cost. Im on turbominis which is a UK site and they rely on donations and they always run at a surplus. They do however have discounts with different suppliers for those who are donating members. Incentive type thing that doesnt cost the forum anything as it brings in customers to those specific businesses

G'day all, both have been renewed for 2 years.

From what I can see, the difficulty in transferring ownership is in that any .com.au URL has to be linked to an ABN. Anyone with a small business or something would be able to take it on...

Cheers.
