Nice, how much lower does it need to go in the back?

2 inches would be good. I dont think Ill bother unless I get decent rims on it though. It handles nicely now and doesnt look too low.

The trans started being extra gay today :( Its booked in to get looked at next monday. The engine and trans will come out after the trans is diagnosed.

Not doing ^^^ anymore.

The engine and trans are half out now. Im getting a replacement trans and convertor from John tomorrow. Im hoping to have the leaks sorted and the good trans all back in before the end of this weekend.

Once that is done and the car is in my name I think Ill book it in for a gas conversion. If Im going to make it a daily and not mod it I may as well do it properly.

If the pacies you bought are the 4480's (comps), from what most gas places have told me they get in the way of the convertor. 4499's will clear though 100%.

Also, once you get gas, you may not need to drop it further - from memory my last EF dropped about an inch in the rear once it was converted.

Ah cool. Thanks for the heads up.

Ive got the comps I think. Gas can wait. I dont do many K's in it. I reckon I'd only need to fill it up once a month normally anyways.

Still a good price mate! Plus, if you go to FTG Auto Salvage, they'll give you $40 for your old cat in any condition.

I got my new auto from John - EFfalcon last night. I should have the non leaky engine and new trans back in by next weekend if I get around to it.

To keep with the non turbo theme this is in the mail on its way to my house :D

Image

The plan is to try and run a 13 for cheap.

So far Ive spent:

$50 on a catback exaust
$150 on pacemakers and a cat.
$775 on a nitrous kit
$150 on a purge valve kit.

The total so far is $1125.

13's are soo last year but Ive always wanted to try nitrous so it should be fun. If something breaks wgaf, the car was $1000. :P

i think u mean to say, it clears the nitrous oxide gas from the lines cause it heats up, and as you said its only the liquid that goes into the intake

What I meant was, if a 5.0 conversion is in your "keeping things simple" list, the 351w doesn't need much more effort IIRC? Apart from mucking around with the pulley setup at the front, and being a bit more limited in choice of extractors. EEC-IV and all ancillaries are basically plug -n- play, same goes with hooking up to a 5.0 T5 or BTR?

Wet kits are far easier to set up safely!

I know a guy who has a 100hp wet system on his company van (new hiace), stock motor. He aslo had a detroit locker and line locker in it.
That thing used to do the MADEST skids ever. It was so crazy seeing a hiace van doing HUGE smoke shows.

The point is that he wasn't particularly worried about the safety of that van yet it never blew up and he sold it with the balance of the factory warrenty and hasn't heard of any trouble with it since.

Nahh, that would require engineering to be legal and would cost more than I want to spend.

If I wanted performance I'd turbo it or put a 2j in and turbo that.

V8 is for daily drivering and towing and sounding tuff and only if Sundeep wrecks a V8 and gives me cheap parts.

Realistically Im not going to do anything to the EF after the nitrous is in apart from driving it around.

The maverick needs lockery goodness.

Keep upping the jet size on the 4L till it dies.
Install 5L, repeat.
Whichever one takes the most guess gets to be crowned better then the other one.

5L will win because you can retard the timing :P
