I don't know if the kms make that much of a difference, it is a Windsor, she is only just run in!

It's not like I have my heart set on this or anything, just making equiries at this point. As it has a Sprint Gas system in it already, I thought I would give them a call. Waiting on a call back for a quote. I recon if it's like $1500 or above, I'll just leave it and see if I can get a gas service/tune and be done with it.

Quote from Sprint Gas is $2250 supply and fit, including what i was told was "a days job" to remove my current system. Also the rebate is still available at $1000. Sounds pretty expensive to me.

what would it be if you removed the old system (turn off valves at the tank), remove converter and mixer ring, block off water lines to converter. There isn't that much in the bay to remove, I don't see it being a days work, a few hours at best.

Not sure mate, but I wouldn't attempt it myself anyway. I no longer have the room or tools, let alone the confidence to attempt that kind of job.

Anyway, I rang Australian LPG Warehouse, and was quoted the same, $2200 supplied and fitted, for a Erogas SVi system. Including compliance for rebate claim, and 3 year warranty (which means nothing to me). So I guess that is the going rate, I don't think it's worth it to be honest. I was told the rebate is $1000 from them also, but I'm guessing it would take a while to come back to me, if at all.

P.S. yes, it is a slow day at work today!

I believe that price was using my existing lpg tank and lines. That was for supply and fit of all under bonnet items and the gas ecu and wiring. Not sure how much more it is for the rest, didn't ask. If any of you guys enquire about a full setup, let me know the quote. Would be interesting to see the difference.

If it's around $2500 I think I might get on it.
If I can get 400k from $35-40 instead of 450-600 from $90-100 then that saves me a fair bit.

Is that kit you linked really that good Misk? The last guy I spoke to at ALPGW talked up the Eurogas system a fair bit! Plus, in my experience people don't like installing someone else's stuff. (Sometimes they don't like installing their own stuff either! )

They told me the initial quote was $1980, but it would cost me an extra $200 to get the whole system complianced for rebate. Which means they check my tank and lines, and replace anything that has deteriorated.

You'll find gas installers all have their preferences and would obviously prefer to install what they are familiar with (and get at the right price to make some $$ on).

That 2200 price for the euro gas system seemed pretty fair!
As long as they have a warranty on the injectors and have some after sales service support that's the cheapest injected system I've heard of.

I was told 5 year warranty on injectors, and 3 year warranty on the rest of the hardware. Or maybe the other way around, i can't recall. Anyway, they did make a point of being pround of the warranty and support they offer, and free tune ups if required.

Anyway, as good a deal as you guys are saying, I think I need to hold off until after christmas. I am still not sure how my job is going to pan out after the break, so I don't want to go dropping cash that isn't absolutely necessary. I've got the car now, and it runs fine as is and doesn't appear to have any immediate issues. No need to go rocking the boat until I am 100% secure about my job.

vapour injection is great! I love it! but I am bias!

But if I was you I'd keep it as is, I'm sure its going well on petrol, So LPG 90% of the time and petrol when you wanna give it a boot full.

Or get you current gas system tuned which should give some improvement if its as bad as your suggesting.

So it turns out that all this lpg discussion may have been a wasted excersise, but for good reason this time. Finally got some good news from the boss this week! He picked up a new major client, which means my job is going to be needed for a while yet. Best part, he said a company car is back on the cards! It wont be anything special as I was scheeming, only like a little Mazda or something. So I will have to decide if I keep the XR8 at all or not. I was even thinking since the job is fairly secure now, of jumping into the land of the home loan, so I have a garage to keep this heap! :P

There is no real rush for anything now, hopefully! Went up to the client site this morning with the boss, to do some remote support software installs and an audit. He said they have put us on a 6 month trial for this one site, and if that goes well we get the rest of the company. Boss said he should know by March next year, so nothing will be happening until at least then.

Anyway, I have some time to kill before a bbq this evening, so I thought I would take a look at the gas intake on the throttle body. It is hella small, as per below! So I switched to petrol and took it off to see how much difference the car went. Unfortunately not that much, seems she is a little tired. Mid range felt a bit stronger, but there is a noticeable drive train vibration that starts at 4000rpm that I can feel through the gear stick. So it has just convinced me that this thing is not worth trying to make faster. I'll just leave it, and enjoy it as a nice cruiser.

Vibration is probably the balancer, quite common for them to fail.

It shouldn't struggle over 4000rpm, check the plugs.

Re: EVS DE-EVOLUTION

Yep, bit of a kick in the balls as soon as I got this thing with the gas price! Ah well, still cheap enough to run, my fill went from $37 to $42, so I'm not too worried.

Thank's Nut, I'll have to get it looked at then. I want to change the plugs anyway, just so I know they are new. Just haven't had the time. The car runs fine if i drive it nicely still anyway, so no huge rush. I'll do what I did with the red one, and buy the standard NGK plugs at like $4 each and change them every oil change.

In other news, my girlfriend broke up with me earlier this week (long story, I seem to find the head cases!), so I needed a bit of retail therapy. Got my stereo system installed, Alpine head unit running factory premium speakers, Type R 12 and Jaycar mono. Same setup I had in the red one, sounds great! I needed to be able to pump some angry music!
