Tyres for AU Series 3 XR8

Hi guys looking into some new rubber. Tossing up Bridgestone RE002s in the 235/45R17 or Micheline Pilots. Anyone had either of these tyres before if so what were they like for both wet weather grip and dry? and how well did they wear?

Both are performance tyres?

I know the re002 is and due to this is soft and can wear fairly quickly, michelin in my experience get noisy after 10, 000ish km's.
I personally hate spending lots on tyres so stick with cheaper brands but toyo teo are a great tyre and can be had for pretty cheap, for that size around the $150mark each.

I've had alot of tyres and cant fault achilles and federal, even compared to more expensive tyres.

Toyo Teo+ is what I have had on my last two AU XR8s, and I highly recommend them!

Yeah both performance tires. Hmm hadn't considered Toyo's its got a set on the back and they are worn but I will say grip level stinks atm but that figures they are worn.

I have had 2 sets of yokohamas,

A drive R1 - Grip 10/10 , wet weather 10/10, noise 7/10.

C drive - Grip 9/10, wet wether 9.5/10, noise 10/10.

I have a set of Toyo Teo Plus - Grip 6.5, wet 6.5, noise 10/10
great for the wifes car, on par with noise with the c drive but they dont like any performance driving.

Tyres are very personal, I dont look for the cheapest tyre, I decide on whats best for me then decide on the tyre, then look for the best price on that tyre.

Mind you, Im sure the Toyo's will feel like good slicks if you have just finished with "triangle" or cheap chinese shit tyres.

I've no experience with the Yokohama tyres, so cannot comment there. I can say that myself or someone in my family has replaced both Dunlop and Bridgestone with the Toyo and been much happier for every day driving. The only other tyre I have had for more aggressive driving is Kumho Ecsta, but they were the old KU31, not sure what they are like now.

The Kuhmo KU31 are still an awesome tyre, had them on my ED and they stuck to the road like sh*t to a blanket..

Yeah I had a set of them on the back of my ED XR6 for a while and there were ok. I have had Bridgestone RE002s before replaced my khumos with them on the back and got em on the front. I found that they transformed my car big time. Those Same Tires are Now on my Brothers ED XR6 they have done 20 000 on mine and about 3 000 on his car on his car they are starting to slide in the rear when its wet. Road Noise is still really low however that was 225/50R16s and was Just wondering what they are like on the 17 inch. Also I've herd Mich Pilot Sports are getting really good tire reviews and I think they might have won the Motor top tire 2013? or wheels.

Basically 180 a tire vs 200 a tire as far as bridgestone vs michy. I contemplated Dunlops 3000As but I have her lots of people complain about their grip being slippy.

Price up a Nitto Invo too. Funky tread pattern, but I'll be damaged if they aren't one of the stickiest tyres I've used.
