98 EL SAPPHIRE

Postby 98saphir2 » April 16th, 2008, 1:37 pm

Hey boys, my first post on here, always been a ford man, iv owned two e series in my time, i refuse to buy an AU BA OR BF or even an FG. E series will always be what i drive. Best design ford ever created in my books. Anyways iv ownded a red 95 Falcon GLI and now my current beast, A ford Falcon EL Futura Sapphire series 2, and i knw for sure it was one of the last el's made which is pretty cool i must say. Here some photos of her, and i beleive the company who did her wheels were done by Tickie who owns the sexy red ed xr6. Anyways heres my girl. I havnt done many engine mods as im still at tafe and stuff but next year, i got plans that are massive. The current mods include:

King wheels 17"s
235 Tyrs
King springs ultra lows
Pedders sports shocks all round
K and N Panel filter
Genie extracters
High flow Cat Converter
2.5Inch exhaust i guarantee i have the loudest exhaust in any ford I6 on this website NO JOKES. It can kill v8s at times with ease lol. Thanks to windsor exhaust for the custome job, legends.
New front window
Custome blue interior by mwa
pioneer sound system with 6" champ series all round and 2 pioneer 12 inch subs on poineer 1200 watt amp and 600watt 4 channel. Pioneer head unit, high end one
aftermarket speedo decals in cluster, has for logos and that on em.
and thats about it for now

Fute mods include
xr8 body kit and wing, hate the pissy xr6 wings hopeless haha
chrome boot garnish
koni shocks
STAGE 2 illegal tint
Clear rear tail lights
dba rotors and red calipers
bigger intake in chrome piping 3"
chrome coolant tank
garret to4e turbine
intercooler etc
braded leads
better ignition leads
dvd player in dash
and the big one, a manual conversion. if that seems to hard to do i might just nick this girl off and buy an el xr8 series 2 and do her up or an ed xr8 sprint and do abit to her lol. Cheers boys and fantastic site. Peace Pricey

Welcome mate, enjoy your stay here.

Not a fan of all the blue touches but each to their own :)

Got a sound file of your loud exhaust? I'm sure a few members on here could give you a run for your money with decibels :P Any mufflers or resonators on your exhaust?

A manual conversion would be far simpler than a turbo conversion too, and far cheaper.

I see Dezza's floormats live on :P

Yeah, blue bits and clear tail lights for the loss.

lol at the floormats. I used to like the blue checkerplate ones too, but well, I got over them! That's a rather regrettable choice I made in the past.

btw Dave. My floormats still live on! I use them to keep my boxes of car parts off the concrete in the garage! lol

Hey abcisfun, yeh i live in Nsw, i live right near windsor mate, just on the outskirts, so its a layed back town, pretty cool here but my area has nearly all ford fans here, i seriously do not knw any of my area mates who drive a holden haha. But throughout the heart of windsor theres a variety of drivers as would be expected lol.

To answer your question amon, mate i fitted these bad boys about 10 months ago. I have no issues at all with scrapeing or anything. What tyre king did for me was cut the upper wall out so my wheels had more area to move when i hit bumps. I also took my mudflaps off. They used to scrape everythin mate. The only thing that may scrape at times when im not careful is my exhaust, its pretty damn low to the ground cause i have such a big muffler in my setup. Neways what i suggest when you get your car lowered is that you get your drive train adjusted, because with both e series iv had that have been dropped on thier arse, both have had grinding issues with the differential and the shaft. Somthin to do with the lowering process. Your ride will ultimatly become ruffer none the less when you lower the car aswell, and depending on your tyres, be prepaired to buy a camber kit. I dont have one cause i only chuck $110 tyres onto my rims so im not to worried lol. Neways hope that helps mate. Cheers

The exhaust is a redback, has a bashed out muffler and absolutly no resonator lol, The extracters are genie i didnt want pacemakers cause i had em in my EF Gli and didnt like the sound, i feel the genies have a better gurgle powerful sound to em. Why have have i got this loud exhaust? Just to wake up neighbours of course hahaha nah just love the sound of a loud i6. It sounds mean and agressive and im tellin ya, skylines shitemself when they hear ya comin hahaha.

The only reason im sellin her, i hate to say that word, but is because i am upgrading to a 5.0l EL xr8 once i get my blacks in 5 months, i got my ps just after the v8 rule came in, and im in nsw so it farken sucks, but o well its comin lol. I am lookin at spening $ 16,000 for a beautiful EL SERIES 2 XR8 with sunroof, full xr bodykit, and absolutly standard as buggery. If it has different wheels on it, i dont mind but everything needs to be factory, but i want the lot on it. I was even thinking of a nice el 1998 fairmont ghia v8 with the lot, but we shall see further down the road. My future mods for it will be a supercharge, and new gearbox setup and maybe a nice sound system lol, but im gonna make it a reality at the end of this year, cant bloody wait. Personally i dunno wat ford woulda been without the E-series, i honestly think its what made ford what it is in australia. Neways ill shut up now, but yeh i will definatly find it hard parting with her, shes been a fantastic set of wheels, and she sure knws how to please a man lol.
