Slight Window Problems

Postby mike1989 » May 11th, 2008, 9:18 pm

Yeh as you can see I have a bit of a problem with the front driver's side window... Bastards.

Happened while I was at my gfs, came out to discover it like that, nothing was taken but i'm thinking attempted theft.

Any similar stories, pics etc?

Also how much do you think this will cost to be replaced? Will 3rd party theft and fire cover this? looking forward to some replies :)

Has the car had custom window tinting done to it?
If no, its a pretty simple job of switching windows from another E series car, all of the windows from EA-EL will fit but I think that the EF-EL had different tinting then the earlier models.

If yes, you would have to do the same as above apart from tinting the new window to your own tint specs.

It wont be covered by your insurance.
But as above, the window can be had for cheap.
AFAIK, Phat EL had a couple of rocks thrown at it a while back.
Pricks!

Aren't EF/EL windows thicker or something?

Check your insurance policy, most of them will do one window replacement per year for free.

Nope no rock, thats why I thought theft, it's a main road but not busy at night so he could of attempted it then seen a car and bolted

Also that window was road-side so someone walking past would of had to walked around onto the road to smash it
