WTF Fuel Price

Postby Frost » June 11th, 2008, 10:37 pm

How the **** can fuel price be "steady" (around the $130 mark, has come down from nearly $140) the aussie dollar be steady but ecomonists tip fuel price to go up another 10c.

2 weeks ago oil and the dollar were around the same (prolly bit more for oil, but aussie dollar was strong) and fuel be $1.49.

What a head ****.

Petrol prices at the pump always seem to be quick to go up at the slightest whiff of an increase per barrel, but then take aaages to come down.

One of my aunts is an operations manager at Exxon Mobil, I'll have to start offering to babysit her kids in exchange for free petrol.

I heard that it was supposed to jump up at the end of this week but I didn't listen, I just thought it was the usual chicken little cries. I should have got a full tank when I saw it for $1.55... oh well.

We'll definitely see this in our lifetime. Or is it happening already?

The sooner we have a national fuel watchdog the better I reckon. I'm sure price spikes are due to legitimate reasons like production problems/shortages, but at the same time I'm sure the oil companies enjoy delaying the price reductions when they can.

just to make sure everyone realise the the government takes 2 taxes, one is called GST (10%) n the other is called Fuel Excise (roughly 35%).

as if they would lower the price when they would only do themselves out money so Rudd can try to invest 30 something million dollars into camarys which will result in mass job loss!

V-Power Racing = :(

I have heard stories of poorly maintained storage facilities contributing to poor fuel quality - one had creek water getting into the fuel tanks.

V-Power Racing's been fine for me, but I haven't used it since I found out there SFA diff between it and V-Power. I think it was Gunns who started the thread on octane and it got me curious to know the difference, so I dug up some info on it and posted it there. After reading about it, it really is only good for racing and only if the car is tuned to use it.

Yep I used to use V-Power Racing now I just use V-power, back when I was using the Racing it was only available at select servos. Normal V-Power is available at any Shell servo so it's easier to get too. Makes no difference in the AIT which one I use.

Back when I had the V8 NC I was using just Optimax and then changed to whatever V-Power Racing was called before it changed names to what it is today and I was getting 450km to 500km a tank on normal Optimax and then 500km to 550km on the Racing. So the extra cost evened out in the extra distance from a tank.

And that's why I have a workcar on gas (although a company car + fuel card would be better!)

130km trips = $10 :D

Although public transport would be cheaper. Unfortunately there's no public transport out here, you guys don't realise how lucky you are to actually have trains... Even if they are often late/cancelled.

Fuel runners? Are you high mate?

How would you like it if I came up to your car and did a runner with some of your petrol? Its not even the service station's owners fault, they get like a 2 cent cut per litre...all the rest goes to Mcfucktard Rudd the Dudd and the Oil companys.

Ok so fuel isn't cheap.
So we go and steal it...
Lets just take that philosophy into the rest of our lives...

Pfft, go out get a decent job, if at your age, fuel is such an issue...
Or buy another smaller more efficient car first.
Yeah another $20 a tank of juice is harsh, but there's no point telling us that, everyone already knows it!
Doesn't make us sheep, or brainwashed cause we don't go and steal it. FFS

Pull your head in dude.
